Please help me see what I'm doing wrong with this putting formula.

I've got the basics of putting, but I want to improve further and was reading this bit of putting advice:
http://mingol.shihiko.net/?page_id=9Since I'm playing an NA version, I was going by the author's second example:
"The same formula works for Hot Shots Golf series, but you just need to tweak it a little...
Flag Indicator Power Gauge% (+/-(Uphill/Downhill #ft.) / (30/60/90/120ft. Putter Max Distance) x 100)% = Amount of Power % Required
With that an Example: Flag is at 50%, 0.30ft. Downhill, 30ft. Putter Max Distance...
50%-(0.3/30*100)% = 40% of Power Gauge."Seems easy enough, but when I do the math myself I get 49%, not 40%. Am I doing something out of order?

Easy way to think of it for the NA/EU version is this.
30ft putter: .03 = 1% power
60ft putter: .06 = 1% power
90ft putter: .09 = 1% power
As Shihiko's guide says, keep in mind there are putts that the formula does not work on. Identifying what these putts are is the difference between being a great putter and a good one.

I think of it like this...
If you're using the 10m putter, then an uphill slope of 10cm = 10% extra power.
Similarly, a downhill slope of 5cm = 5% less power.
With the 20m putter, 10cm uphill = 5% extra power.
With the 30m putter, 30cm uphill = 10% extra power.
The putts that don't follow this formula appear to be ones that slope downhill then uphill. I usually give them a bigger whack.... but then I'm not a 'great' putter
