Infamous is a modern day action adventure game where the main character, Cole, has electrical powers. He acquires these powers early in the game. Like some superheroes he is not born with super powers. A freak accident in the city leaves a lot civilians dead but Cole suvivies. What happens next is the basis of the game.
The game flows so easily from scene to scene that controling Cole is almost effortless.Sucker Punch, the developers, have done an excellent job integrating Cole and his surroundings. As Cole gains fighting experience he can upgrade or discover new abilities. All of them are good and serve a vital role in the title at some point.
For instance, he is able to leap great heights and land on streets or sidewalks and do massive damage to those around him. This is good to use in heavily infested areas of enemies. He also gets the ability to fly, or glide, latter in the game. This effect is very cool.
The game has trophies and also in game stunts to perform.Neither are required to complete the game but they do add a layer of fun to an already enjoyable game. There are main missions throughout the city which forward the storyline. There are also a lot of side missons to do.Some require helping people or the Police while others ask you to stop a train or get one running. There are also many others.
The city is divided into 3 distinct areas and each is progressively harder than the one before. If certain conditions are met it is possible to travel back to districts you have already been.
Some of the bosses are very tough, while some require exact timing to beat. The game is a challenging game despite the fact that, as an open world title, it plays so easily. It may well be the best open world title of this genre out there! You are asked to make moral decisions at a number of points. The answers to choose make Cole either more of Hero or more of a Villian. To get all the trophies in the game you will have to play through it twice , one as a Hero and once not.I was a Hero but most I know were Villians.
There are a number of objects to collect in the game much like in Spiderman titles. As in Spiderman 2 a lot of stats are kepy by the game. Also the cut scenes that have been viewed may be viewed again and again in the options screen.
I recommend this title for any fan of the action advention genre. If you are into the Marvel or DC hero games you will also like this. Qute possiblr even better.Make note , that while Cole is a superhero, he is not a Marvel or DC character.Do not expect a Kingpin or Two Face cameo.
Infamous 2 is due out sometime in the future. For now though, enjoy this title!

Very repetitious, the same scenario in the whole game.

It's a fun open world that tends to repeat itself after a while.
