This is a site that feels 8 hour gameplay games for $60 is perfectly ok - as they get their games free. Hence, anything that isn't COD style and is longer than 8 hours and they don't like it. Ignore this review. this is a solid 8.0 -and more, if you are an Avatar movie fan!
Do you think for a huge fan (i.e. me), and it being around 15 to 20 bucks now, this is a game worth getting? At first when I saw this film in theaters, I didn't much care for it, but after subsequent viewings I really enjoyed it and for a couple of years now it's been one of my favorite sci-fi franchises to date, and I'm just wondering for such a huge fan, and from its price point, is this worth it?
I finished the game today, and let me tell you this, the game has great action as an Human but it starts to get impossible,The guns only reach to level 4, the game freeze after 2 locations, there are so many na've, and the third or fourth level boss is so hard that I died without warning. The cover spots were too exposed, the load times are about 10-15 seconds, the story has little to no twist, bad acting, collecting shards are so impossible to get since you have to kill alot of na've,the controlls aren't the best,boring,boring,and most of all...BORING! If you are looking to get this then just beware of the challenge.
1 Like This game isn't as bad as he says it is. Sure it's not great, but it's not bad either. If you loved the Avatar movie, you should at least give this a try.
@ JonathanGudeman im sooo happy u ve posted this, 'cos i've been wonderin whether to get this game or not, 'cos im a big fan of the film but the reviews ve all been pretty awful! apparently u can choose ur own person/avatar at the start of the game?
Bullsh1t Kevin. This game is great. If you don't play this game thinking it's the best game ever, then it should suprise. The vehicles don't stink. They are awesome. This is pretty much an open world game. The story isn't that bad, because it is more of a documetary. They aren't trying to make this the best game ever, they were just trying to make this a game for the movie. I got this game for Christmas and thought it was going to be crap. Ten minutes in I was hooked. If you are a fan of the movie, you will love this game.
I found that for a shooter you could do worse but it is still rather...meh, could have been better
I agree with the review. I am 2 hours into the game and am completely bored. Wish I could erase this from my achievement list.
I hate the reviwer (How he rated aliens vs predator: 5.5 !) but most of the time hes the most truthful so I guess Im not buying this
I don't like this dick reviewer but i do agree that this game sucked. The movie sucked too
the conquest got my attention, and it looks like all you do is shoot navi nothing interesting.
No, i have not played it. But i did watch the movie and i feel the URGE to get into the fight! XD GO RDA!!!!
Game is ok, not the best but then certainly not the worst! I myself have owned the game from more or less the day of release & paid the full price for it. I wish maybe i had waited 2 months or so before i did as many games drop in price a bit. If you're thinking of buying the game, then i would say if you can pick it up for 15 or 20 pounds, go for it! Everybody seems to slag it off & make out it's horrible, not true! Yeah it can be a bit repetitive & seem long but i quite like it & my only regret is that i paid full price for it. Trust me, you could do a whole lot worse than pick this up. 1 note of advice though, cast sentiment aside & choose to support your fellow humans. Choose life, choose the RDA!
I just downloaded this onto my ipod touch and it is really fun because it plays like a platformer, but this looks like complete garbage.
I love how reviewers always complain that a game is to short or can be finished in x amount of hours and here Kevin is complaining this 1 is too long. lol
@kryptikkomatose wrong. the movie was amazing because of... EVERY part of it! @H3_Master_Chief terminator salvation actually IS a james cameron movie.
@ badgermilk if you're referring to the Terminator Salvation game, that WASN'T a James Cameron game (or movie).
@ 06JRM06 I saw it only at Imax 3D. that was just great! I want to go back and watch it again if it still is on Imax
I absolutely loved the movie, and am seriously thinking about taking a 3rd trip back -- this time on IMAX . . . But it saddens me that the game disappoints. :( That being said, I really hope the game pulls off a better, more polished sequel. 'Cuz the concept has potential.
The movie was amazing but it seems like all the James Cameron movie games, this and terminator, pretty much suck.
