What makes Kane & Lynch such a letdown? Find out in our video review.
The most honest, and therefore IMHO, the best review on GameSpot to date.
Missed ya bud, welcome back.
Haha, he's BACK
JEFF IS BACK. NEWS
Something with this many flaws should be more like a 4 or 5 right?
@darkcomedian I just dusted off my ancient GS account ... felt nostalgic and had to revisit this vid.
In hindsight, this review, and subsequent firing, was a blessing.
I was dumbfounded that Io Interative put Hitman on hold to make something so ridiculously inferior as this. And its sequel.
It took a crap game, bully tactics, and a spineless company to give us Giantbomb.
Such a shame that a honest reviewer gets sent away. Kind of makes you think if it is a free to choose score system or a corporate run sales booster through ratings...
I rented this game and played the co-op campaign. Honestly, this review is fair and honest. The score is pretty spot on too. It's not great, but it is also slightly average/above average. I had fun playing it.
The joke is on Eidos though
GameSpot didn't fire him - he is the head of GameSpot at the time. He can't fire himself. Who then fired him? That would be GameSpot's owner at the time then, which was C-NET. C-NET is the one who fired him - NOT GameSpot.
the review that took down Gerstmann and gave me Giant Bomb, though I feel sorry for Jeff you can't deny this made the gaming world a better place
Jeff was the second best reviewer Gamespot had, after the legendary Greg Kasavin. Hard to believe it's been 4 years since he was fired from Gamespot. To the newcomers here; read up about Jeff Gerstmann.
@joe0002011 what do you mean "only good one"? there are great reviewers here.
Doesn't even deserve a 6.0 , 1.0 is enough.
Well done gamespot you managed to fire not only your best reviewer but also your only good one.... Unlucky

man i just read and article on what happened. i had no idea. stupid eidos
He shouldn't have been fired... stupid Edios Interactive...
I love how this site says game advertisers don't influence their review scores then they go and fire Jeff. He was spot on and brutally honest.
Meh.
So er, where is the PC review of this game? ;)
dog days looks better
Screw yall involved in firing this guy, he makes so much sense in his reviews and explains in such a constructive and informative way. Giving this POS a rating of 6 was too generous.
Lol Jeff dident deserve to be fired i actually think Jeff was being generous giving it a 6/10 have you seen that horrible game...
Sheesh, not only did they fire Jeff, but their forums are filled with drama. Then again, all mainstream gaming sites have drama, even Giant Bomb...
You were too good for this place, Jeff :)
I think a lot of people are missing the point. The controls on this game were fn awful - 6/10 is generous! that is a #FACT
@PHYRYABIN- I agree, the original reviewers were the best but the new ones are great too, mostly Kevin VanOrd cuz he rates all the awesome games. IGN just plain sucks
Goodbye to Mr.Jeff,Alex,Greg and Ryan. The 4 best reviewers on the orginal Gamespot. The new reviewers are meh but decent.Better than what you would find on IGN.
I always thought he and Alex Navarro were the best reviewers on this site.
you see being honest dosent always not get you in trouble
jeff got removed from gamespot because of what he said
This game was horrible, It should of gotten a score of 4.5.
Jeff was one of the most brilliant reviewers of GS. When I look at this review I knew it was too harsh for a 6.0/10 but...firing him was unreasonable. Worst yet, firing Jeff caused a chain reaction that took away all the previous GS reviewers who had unique and charming personalities, such as Alex, Brad, Ryan and many more...these people write and do reviews in ways that makes them actually "fun" to read/watch
Oh Jeff :(
this just shows it doesn't pay to be honest
this game got jeff fired? he is only telling the truth, if this retarded game never existed, jeff would still be here!
He makes it sounds like a 3.0 :P.
steve4123456789 you're a retard Just look at your nickname.
this is why i personally prefer to get my reviews from lesser known sites, like screwattack or angry joe
Gs really wasn't smart on getting rid of Jeff, he was he more intelligent reviewer. I mean I tried this game, and trust me I really tried to somewhat like it, but I just can't and I have to agree with Jeff on this game. And personally, if GS fired him because he did this review and it was promoted on the site, well the the company should have been spending more on making this game better than promoting. It's all greed with a capital G.
@Venom341: Jeff Gerstmann still does reviews, he is the owner of Giantbomb.com, and of course other people write reviews (and video reviews) like he does. It's a cool site with all sorts of guides and statistics and what not.
i got balls,,seems good,,im gonna play this,,i i

He's doing it. Just check out Giant Bomb http://www.giantbomb.com/kane-lynch-2-dog-days-video-review/17-3063/
Now i'm curious why Jeff didn't just make a youtube channel and just keep doing what he was doing before.
He got fired because he told his opinions about the game, and GS reviews must be based only on facts.Personally, this is one of my fav reviews on GS because I heard someones opinion about the game.Firing him was wrong.
