Killzone 3 User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Best in series"
Killzone 3 is an amazing PS3 exclusive and it's one of the best shooters available in the system. Of course, the success of its predecessor, Killzone 2, helped Killzone 3 to outdo Killzone 2 in many ways, also fixed some issues that were in Killzone 2.
Presentation:
Once you start the game, you'll be shown a cut scene as the introduction of the game's story that is so beautiful to watch, then you're left to choose what you want to play. The menu is colored with red and it's not really something bad, but also not something special. But the main menu could've been better presented.
There's also the new-added mode which is Co-op Campaign Mode which lets you hop in with another player "OFFLINE!!!" to play the single-player campaign. You know, team Gurrella could've spend more time to make a make-sense Co-op instead of canning it into an only split screen.
Score: 7.5 Out of 10 ...
Graphics:
Well, I was blown away with how beautiful the graphics were. It's so beautiful. What's impressed me most is that even in the multiplayer mode, the graphics stay as beautifully as the single-player campaign. And so do the Co-op mode. The issues found in many games such as frame rates, bad animations and physics...etc. They're not in Killzone 3 which indicates how hard work was put in the game. Not to mention, its capacity is 41 GB which takes a lot of capacity from the Blu-ray Disc and it's worth it.
Score: 10 Out of 10 ...
Sound and Voice Acting:
For starters, the theme soundtracks stay the same as found in Killzone 2.
The voice acting in the game is very well-done, single-player campaign's voice acting is great but it sounds like a B-movie with some cliches along the way. But the Mulitplayer mode's voice acting during the missions or any other mode is WoW! You feel like there's a superior who tells you what to do and everything and it creates a good atmosphere. From the propaganda speaker that never shuts up about how the ISA/Helghas should prevail to the screams of your deceased enemies. It's all great and I couldn't be happier.
Score: 8.5 Out of 10 ...
Gameplay "Multiplayer Mode":
Ok, If you're still reading this and bored, please don't. Because this is where the game really shines. This is the game's strongest link.
Let's start with the DS3 "Dual Shock 3 Controller"
Dual Shock:
As you may know, Killzone 3 continues to adapt the same controls from Killzone 2 but better. It feels fluid, smoother than before and more realistic. The realistic is what makes the Killzone Series unique than other shooters in the market. Overall, playing the Dual Shock 3 is great and it only gets better with the move.
Move Controller:
All of us think that the move is only for casuals and that's not entirely true. If you play Killzone 3 with Move. You'll notice that it's more precise and accurate than the traditional controller. Of course, it's not like the Mouse in the PC. That's something different. Killzone 3 takes good use of the Move and makes a good experience for people who want to try something different and fresh. I personally got 45 Kills with 24 Deaths with using the move and I like playing with it more than the regular controller.
But in the end, no matter what way you choose to play with, you'll enjoy Killzone 3.
So let's jump into the Multiplayer Mode.
They're traditional but also feel fresh in a weird way. There is the Warfare that is basically Team Death Match. But then you get modes like Gurrella Warzone that combines modes like Search and Destroy, Defend the target, Defuse/Plant bombs, Assassinate the target and also Team Death Match itself. And they're blast to play. This mode plays like segments. You finish a mission then you get another one... and so on. It's like endless battle. There is also a cut scenes in the multiplayer, if you finished a mission successfully.
The online itself is lag free and that's what I like most about Killzone 3, you don't have to worry about playing for numerous hours if you have a slow internet connection or if you're playing in a different region.
There are classes to choose from and they're traditional too. Classes like Infiltrator, Engineer, Medic, Marksman "Sniper" and many more. Each class has its own weapons, armors, and explosive or grenades. There is also a skill slot which is like the Perk from call of duty series. You can have Faster Reload or Faster Aim or other skills available there.
Score: 9.5 Out of 10 ...
I really enjoyed the Multiplayer for what it has, I know it's different from Killzone 2 and mabye different from other shooters, but also a unique one.
General PROs and CONs:
+_+ Great Controlls "DS3/Move"
+_+ Amazing Visuals
+_+ Multiplayer is AWESOME!!
--_-- No Online Co-op
The Final Verdict:
I can recommend this game for people who are going to spend more time playing this game than playing Black Ops. Other than that, if you're gonna play it for a day or two then please, don't waste your money.
Killzone 3 gets a solid 9 Out of 10 ...
Until the my next review... Peace.
