This is, as you can already tell, a 'create your own adventure' topic. However, it isn't like others I've occasionally run across. In the few I've seen, what ends up happening within the adventure is dependent on which scenario recieves the most votes. Here, we won't be doing that. Everyone will select their own course of action and deal with the consequences separately. This way, it'll truly feel like you're creating your own story, rather than just going along with whichever choice gets the most votes. I shouldn't need to explain how to do this, so let's get down to business, shall we?

Story: Things begin in the urban sprawl of a world called Centropolis, during the time period between KH:CoM and KH2. You are a member of the title organization, the Heartless Extermination Squad, which was formed to combat the Heartless that invaded the world. Thing is, you aren't just any squad member. You are one of the Keyblade's chosen, which gives you a unique advantage over the creatures of darkness. Together with your squadmates, you'll have to fight off the Heartless and save lives, all while trying to unravel the mystery of a strange figure that keeps showing up everywhere.

    Characters:
Protagonist, Age 17:This is you. You joined up with the H.E.S due to your desire to protect others. It wasn't long after that you discovered your ability to wield the Keyblade. That's really all I can tell you, as the protagonist's personality depends on you and the choices you make. You wield a Keyblade, obviously.

Alyssa, Age 16: One of your best friends. She's a strong girl, with a very deep sense of justice. Joined the H.E.S at the same time as you and your other friend, Gray. Somewhat stubborn, once she has a goal in mind, she won't stop until she reaches it. Uses a sword in battle.

Gray, Age 18: Your other best friend. He's abrasive and rude to others, but treats his friends with the utmost kindness. He can be very reckless and tends to wander into trouble before assessing the situation. He joined the H.E.S in order to keep an eye on you and Alyssa. Fights with an axe in combat.

Alec, Age 18: One of your squadmates. He's an intelligent guy who always seems to have a plan, no matter what predicament he finds himself in. To that end, he often ends up being the tactician of sorts, coming up with plans to keep everyone safe. His advice is generally pretty sound, so make sure you consider what he has to say before an making big decisions. Fights with his fists in battle.

Roy, Age 14: The youngest member of the H.E.S. A quiet kid, he often gets lost in the hubbub during intense conversations. Due to his age, he feels inferior to the other members and is always striving to prove his place on the team. Looks up to you and wishes he could wield the Keyblade too, thinking he'd be more respected if he did. Age aside, he's a sharp kid, and will often be the first to notice things, even if he doesn't speak up right away. Wields a staff and his rather formidable magic in combat.

MInerva, Age 21: Leader of the H.E.S. She is the oldest, and always tries to set an example for the others to follow because of it. Thanks to her detached demeanor, it can be hard to get her shields down and reach the young woman within. She is very quick witted and never hesitates to do what needs to be done. Uses a lance in battle.

Jeremiah, Age Unknown: Formed the H.E.S and is also the director. Not much is known about him, not even his homeworld, as he isn't from Centropolis. He's the one who informs the others about the Heartless and other worlds out there.

You'll meet more characters as you progress in the tale, some who might reward you for your help, or even join you. Be on the lookout! Now, on to the most important thing, your character. Look below to see what's up.

    Here are your starting stats:

    HP-40
    Strength-4
    Magic-3
    Defense-3

Wanna boost one of them? Here's your first choice then:

Sword-Add a point to the Strength stat.
Staff-Add a point to the Magic stat.
Shield-Add a point to the Defense stat.

Go ahead and name your character, decide what his/her personality will be like and pick a stat to boost. I'll be back later with the first few events. See-ya!

Whoa, I was gone longer than I initially expected to be. Well, only one person so far, but it's not like no one can join up later. To that end, let's begin.

You wake up to see the sun shining through your window. A quick glance at the clock reveals that it is nine o'clock. You overslept! You swiftly take care of your hygenic needs, get dressed, and head off to HQ.

As you expected, everyone is already there and they chuckle at your predictability. It's not the first time you woke up late. Common thing, really. Minerva scolds you lightly, then sends you, Alyssa, and Gray out for some basic training on a few Heartless that have appeared in the local park. Time to go clean up!

COMBAT PRIMER-How to do basic battle: It's simple, really. You'll have three, sometimes four, choices on what to do. All you have to do is make one. If your choice is correct, you win the fight straight up and gain experience. If it's wrong, you'll take damage and might have to choose again, assuming your attack failed entirely. Damage is calculated like so: Enemy strength -your defense = total damage recieved. If you are taking on more than one foe, just add the numbers together for an easier calc. Well, first fight!

    Enemies: Three Shadows
    Str: 5
    Mag: 0

    Will you:

A: Attack head on by yourself?
B: Work in tandem with your friends?
C: Let the enemy make the first move?

    Give it a shot.

    Oh, cool, guess i'll join.

    Name: Sid
Personality: Loner, wants to make friends, but his personality makes it difficult. Prefers to stay in the background, nice and friendly but doesn't talk much.

    HP-40
    Strength-5
    Magic-3
    Defense-4

    I Choose C btw.

    Battle results-
If you chose option 'A': They may be simple Shadow Heartless, but that doesn't mean you should just attcak on your own. You're still inexperienced at fighting with the Keyblade, not to mention you aren't a part of a team for nothing. You defeated all enemies, but got struck by a surprise attack from behind. (HP loss:5 Str - your defense equals total damage, remember?) 30 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'B': Teamwork proves superior as the three of you eliminate the enemy with ease. No damage is incurred. 30 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'C': Letting the enemy strike first proves an effective tactic, as you manage to keep an eye on them all, and take them out swiftly. By yourself, no less. No damage incurred, 10 bonus exp. points earned for taking them out on your own; 40 exp. total.

COMBAT PRIMER- Leveling up: Every 100 exp. points you earn leads to a level up. You start out at Lv. 1 and work your way up. For each level up, you can add 1 point to a stat of your choice. Once you reach higher levels, the experience needed to level up will increase, but I'll let you know when that occurs.

The Shadows were defeated, but they aren't the only foes around. Two more Shadows, plus a Soldier Heartless pop up to test you next. Time for more training!

    Enemies: Two Shadows, One Soldier
    Str(Shadows): 5 Str(Soldier): 7
    Mag(All): 0

    Will you:

A: Focus on the Soldier, while Alyssa and Gray take out the Shadows?
B: Team up and take one foe down at a time?
C: Let the enemy strike first once again?

I meant to post this update before I started work, but ran out of time. Oh well, here it is now.

    Battle results-
If you chose option 'A': You decided to take on the most dangerous out of the three yourself, leaving the weaker Shadows to your friends. Since you were able to direct all attention to the Soldier, you tracked it's movements easily and took it out swiftly. No damage incurred; 35 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'B': Unnecessary attention focused on the weak Shadows led to you getting attacked from behind by the Soldier. Luckily for you, Gray intercepted the attack, sparing you from any damage. Thank him. No damage incurred; 35 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'C': You weren't able to keep up with the Soldier's erratic movements and ended up getting hit. Alyssa made sure to take it down in your place, though. Whoops. Took some damage; 35 exp. points earned.(7 strength - your defense
    = damage you take.)

After that quick scuffle, no more Heartless appeared. Sure that that couldn't be the extent of the park's infestation, Alyssa thinks you three should investigate some more. You guys set off further into the park, keeping a close eye out for any enemies. As you approach the playground area, Gray notes a chest hiding under athe slide. You approach it and open it up to recieve a Potion.

Unexpectedly, several Soldier Heartless appear, ready to strike. You prepare to defend yourself, but you're saved by Minerva, who manages to take them out with one sweep of her spear. Apparently, a large group of Heartless was sighted at the outdoor theater in the middle of the park. She wants you to take them out, but she's around to keep an eye on you just in case you get overwhelmed. She hands you a crystal conatining the power of Fire magic and leads you to the theater. Once there, you see a large group of Shadows alongside a Large Body Heartless. Oh boy, time to fight!

COMBAT PRIMER: Using magic: You've just picked up the ability to cast magic. Yay for you. When you wish to use it, simply select to do so from your possible choices in combat(using magic will now be a selectable option). Be aware that you can only use your spells a limited number of times before you can't anymore. After some time has passed, you'll be able to access them again though, so no worries. I'll keep track of how many uses you have left and how long charge time will be, so don't sweat that.

COMBAT PRIMER: Using items: You found a Potion. I'm keeping track of all items collected so you won't have to. If you need or want to use an item, simply tell me what item you want used when you post and I'll apply it's effects to you. I recommend not using up your items too quickly, though. Never know when you'll need them.

Enemies: 6 Shadows, One Large Body
    Strength(Shadows): 5 (30 Total) Strength( Large Body): 9
    Magic(All): 0

    What will you do?

A: Use Fire on the Large Body, while Alyssa and Gray work on the Shadows. 1 spell use.
B: Take the Shadows down first, then coordinate your attacks on the Large Body from behind, where it's weak at.
C: Try and get Minerva to assist you.
D: Attempt to dodge the Large Body's attack and strike it all together when it isn't paying attention, saving the Shadows for last.

    Time for an update!

    Battle results-
If you chose option 'A': Smart thinking. Since a Large Body is immune to physical attacks from the front, using magic is a viable way to deal with it. Easy victory. No damage incurred; 50 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'B': It was a fair tactic, but the Large Body was quick to take advantage of your decision to leave it for last. You took some damage from it. Of course, you returned the favor. HP loss; 50 exp. points earned. (Shouldn't need to go over the damage calculation again, right?)

If you chose option 'C': Minerva simply looked at you like you were crazy and told you you had to fight your own battles. She also neglected to warn you of the three Shadows sneaking up behind you. Trying to teach you a lesson, I guess. You finished the fight as swiftly as possible, totally embarrased. HP loss; 50 exp. points earned.

If you chose option 'D': Avoiding an enemy attack is never a bad idea, especially when said attack will no doubt hurt like crazy. Good tactics lead to a decisive victory. No damage incurred; 50 exp. points earned.

You all have reached Level 2 at this point, and have earned one stat point to place where you will. In addition to that, there's this---Bonus obtained: HP+5. Update your stats accordingly.

Looks as if the Heartless are gone for now, so you decide to head back to HQ. Once there, Gray hopes the day will be mostly uneventful, claming to be tired. Alyssa wonders how he can be so tired this early in the day, but before you can hear his answer, Alec pulls you away and says that he has something he wants your little trio to check out for him. Seems that Roy left HQ right after you left earlier to do.....something, but he hasn't checked in yet, which worries Alec. He asks you to track Roy down, hopefully before anything bad can happen, assuming nothing bad has happened already. He hands you a cell phone as a way to keep in touch. He also gives you 5 Potions and 500 munny to use if you need it. Time to roll. (See my second post for some info about HQ.)

Following Alec's directions, you head into the residential district, which is all Roy said about where he was going before he split. When you arrive, it is oddly quiet and no one is around. Alyssa is sure that this is a bad sign, and wants to find Roy quickly. Problem is, the residential district isn't exactly small. A nearby apartment building looks like a good place to start, but Gray wants to split up now and search a wider area. Alyssa decides that you should choose the course of action, so go ahead and do so.

    What will you do?
A: Split up an search the area separately.
B: Stick together and check out the apartment building.
C: Stay together, but wait around to see if anything happens before running off.

COMBAT PRIMER: Leveling up, part 2: You already know how to level up. However, be aware that any extra points you had left over after reaching 100 don't carry over. The counter resets at zero. Sorry, but it does make things easier to track.

To Carbuncle: No problem. I only offered to do so for players who don't feel like doing so themselves. It is hard to keep track of everyone's status, so thanks for making my job easier. Anyhoo....

Current status of magic, items, and munny:

    500 munny
    Potion x6
Fire(4 uses; except for lonelyhero24, who still has 5.)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes about HQ: At your HQ, you can choose to rest before leaving out again to restore HP if it isn't at max, and there's even an item shop you can visit to purchase things. Simply make a note you're doing one, or both, of those things. Also specify what items you're buying. As the adventure progresses, more items will be added to the shop's wares. I'll let you know when updates occur.

    HQ Item Shop---

    Potion (50 munny)--Restores up to 30 HP.
Mana Restorative(75 munny)--Replenishes up to three spell uses instantly.
HP Boost(2000 munny)--Increases Max. HP by 10. Can buy up to 3.
Power Boost(1000 munny)--Raises Strength by 1. Can buy up to 3.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other notes: The next few decisions will be adventure based, rather than combat based.
