Aaron Thomas reviews Madden NFL 09!
This game is the worst I've ever played, I usually don't get frustrated with games but this 1 is the 1 exception, I find myself cursing at the players because they either stop mid sprint, drop the ball with no one around them, or the referees constantly on your ass for stuff 99% of the time you didn't do, and they find the most obvious plays worthy of needing to take under review, than either state the obvious, or make a call a blind man could argue against. JUST DONT GET IT. save yourself
Whene i got this game I dident have my x box yet...I should have gotten it latter.First Because it looks better, second because Madden 09 has those pass interference glitches still in the ps2. But im not going to worry about that because im going to get madden 11 soon any ways.
@joezombie15- It was just like that in 08 also. But I agree, the former method (like the one in all pro 2k8) is much better when playing with a friend.
he forgot to say that wheh your picking your play, the only way to pick it is to press X, you dont use every button like in previous games, the reason thats bad is cuz if you are playing with a firend they can see what play you pick every time!
Some Glitches, Online Leagues and Chris Collensworth all made the game bad, but overall, it is the best next gen Madden. But I have a feeling Madden 10 is gunna blow this away.
I dont know what he's talking about when he says "poor pass coverage in the middle of the field", cause when i play its easy. All you gotta do is play as a linebacker and move close to the spot and deflect it or intercept it, but i play on ps2 and i might be different on the newer systems. Also i hate the way the run on this game on the newer systems, they run like fat guys...
I have this game for the PS2 and i say by far it is the BEST i hope Madden 2010 is better
they must change the franchise mode next year. im tired of playing the same boring, feature-less, unrealistic franchise damn EA when will you guys make a madden that is on par with 2K5 or at least better than Madden 2005? some wishes dont come true
Quit lying to yourself Aaron, yes you can go wrong with Madden. The game is fun, but just not very realistic.
All you need to do to have good pass coverage over the middle of the field on defense is use a coverage audible and move the deep zones to the middle.
The demo for this game sucks. But I played actual game and it was exactly like all the others. If you like the others you will like this one just the same.
I've got my eye on this on ebay. But I played 04 on my PC and couldn't win the first game with Detriot Lions. I played replayed the game about 80 times and got the Lions 7 up with 12 yards from their touchline. The other team intercepted and ran the whole pitch and got their extra point. It ended me smashing my hand against the wall and snapping the CD into little pieces. So hopefully things have improved in that respect in 5 years. But I might just rent it first.
The opening for Madden 08 was better, actually 08 Madden's intro was the best intro of any sports game ever
This instalment of Madden is probably the best of the next-gen versions. I have enjoyed the game so far. Good review.
I just picked up madden, and tbh, im totally bewildered by the game, yes its my first madden game, but DAM its confusing. On a side note, his review was pretty accurate. Also, the new look is totally awesome. I was surprised because id finished a review in the Old style, then it refreshed into this lol. Scary stuff i tell ya.

the presentation of the review is good, but they need better reviewers with better voices, if they had better voices the reviews could match up to GT's video reviews
im not really a madden fan, the only football game i've played is nfl street.. its cuase these gamse are confusing buttons for me but i actually wanna try this.. to bad i don't have ps3 or xbox360
Maybe I should start playing Madden again. Some of the tips / tools are good equalizers. Was getting mopped last year when i picked up the game late.
idk know about the 360, but with the ps3 i almost never go out of bounds directly after a catch out of the flats. and i've only overthrown in in practice mode, not in actual gameplay. also, he tried passing to the wrong receiver when he did that play action. it is a lot harder to run though because of the blocking. but w/e i luv it!
i don't like your review not because u said madden is bad i don't even care that much for madden but u just go on and on... ZZzZzZZZz........ sorry but when you review its kinda boring you should quit your day job hahahahaha LoLZ
