Is there any particular reason Nintendo did this? I mean, aren't boys the bigger audience for Pokemon? Why would they only try to appeal to boys with the gifted Pikachu always being female in Pokemon Battle Revolution? --Alphrin

    • Red shells will home in on the person in front of you automatically; however, sometimes they do not always go where you want them to go.
Red Shells have the irritating habit of not knowing who they are chasing when you shoot a player in front of you who is in mid-air.

I've been doing some testing on it (not that much, just some, so correct me if I'm wrong): if I'm in front and number two fires it while I'm in mid-air, it will just go past me, ignoring me completely. However, if the Red passes me and THEN I land on the ground, it decides to go back to me and still hit me from the front.

Sadly I don't know a whole lot about this. I do think you are right to an extent. There are times when I see red shells just scoot on by me for no reason, and I do think being in the air has something to do with it. Most people don't fire red shells at you unless they are right behind you, and most of the time they won't shoot if you're in the air anyway.

Also, I don't usually see the red shell go in front of me then swing back to hit me unless the red shell takes a "shortcut" thru part of the track to get in front of me. Tracks like Jungle Parkway in the cave and the big curve on N64 MR have areas where reds can cut thru offroad to get in front of you and then home in to hit you from the front or the side. I think if you are in the air long enough, either when the person behind you fires it, or when the red is trying to first lock on to you, it will just pass by you. Don't quote me on that. Sorry I couldn't confirm this, maybe someone else knows more about it.

Depends on what item you're talking about. If you use a Mega Mushroom, then yes, bullets and stars can still hit you, and you will go flying. If you are using a star, nothing can actually hurt you, but you can still be bumped/pushed off the track by a bullet or someone with another star.

^ I assume you mean getting mushrooms in first place online?
Your 17th, 19th and 21st+ items wil always be mushrooms.
The easist track to do this on is GBA Bowsers Castle 3 because you can get 8 or 9 (not sure how much) items in 1 lap.

Here Are my Tips For Things :

    How to avoid a POW:
When there's a POW getting ready to hit you (on the third time it shakes the ground) Shake your Wii remote up and down like atleast 5 times. You will only get hit for about half a second while the others get the normal pain from a POW. They get about 3 seconds where they can't move. Cool right? (TESTED)

How To Not Get Hit With A Red Shell:
If someone's going to hit you with a shell (obviously red) and if there's someone in front of you, I mean right in front of you, Then get exactly in front of them. The shell (It Haz No Brain Lol) will still try and get you even though you're in front of the person who was in front of you, causing it to hit them instead. (I just tested this today! LOL!)
    (TESTED)

    Tip On Wheelies:
You should pick a bike whenever possible because you can do wheelies. What do wheelies do that help you you say? They speed you up a tiny bit every time you do one. But if you bonk into a wall or something your speed will go back to normal. If you've ever watched the MarioKart Time Trials (the best ones btw not the ones that hack) you see how they go on the best times? They start off with the speed boost and a wheelie right away. Then comes a turn they get real close and do a drift torbo move. Wheelie. Turbo. Wheelie. Wheelie. And over and over until the race ends. Don't you see them getting faster and faster every li'l bit? That's my favorite trick. I do it all the time!

    THATS IT FOR NAO! THANKS!

Okay so, my brother was watching this race in the room he was about to enter on Wi-Fi and he was watching the person in first. the person in 1st AVOIDED several spiny shells by simply hopping. But it wasn't a normal hop. I saw it too, the hop was about as high as the front wheel was in a wheelie. was the person hacking or is there some really hard technique that the person used?

There is no way to dodge a blue shell by hopping that I know of. The guy must have somehow had mushrooms in first place, and was possibly hopping as he used the mushroom, or lag could have made it look like he was hopping. Hard telling if he was just that good at saving mushrooms in 1st or if he was hacking, but I do not believe it's possible to dodge blue shells without a mushroom or boost pad.
