- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Immersive"
best rpg with a mind blowing amount of content to keep you entertained for a very long time, especially with multiple play throughs.
fixes most problems of ME1: better feeling combat, no more tiresome inventory sorting.
fights last a great deal longer and are much more intense. a lot harder to get "god mode" level characters. a consistently balanced difficulty. new weapon system with thermal clips (vs me1's overheat system) offers a new level to combat. AI will try to flank you. team mates actually help now.
incredible graphics. incredible story that can be different each playthrough. detailed and beautiful environments. immersive worlds and cultures. wonderful character development.
story has some large twists and turns, keeps you on your feet the whole time.
my main problem is the planet scanning, which is simplified later on with an upgrade. it gets tiresome and very time consuming, quite a dull element of the game. not enough to detract from the overall experience, however.
other than that, a near-perfect game. not much else to ask for.
not only does the story change due to your actions in the first mass effect, your actions in this one carry into the third game.
i suggest reading the novel between me1 and me2, it helps clear up some confusion.
however i kinda miss the item-scavenging and getting cooler armor and weps with every fight. i wish they had kept that aspect but cleaned up the inventory system.
overall, just incredible...

Countless pro's, but a few ugly cons prevent this game from being 10/10

- My Shep... as this is my main incarnation I tried to make her look as much like me as possible. I like her, so I thought I would share. ;o)Posted May 2, 2010
