In this expansion you get to team up with Aria T'Lok and take back Omega from Cerberus. While the prospect of revisiting Omega is exciting, especially in the context of what's going on in ME3, the actual task of going through the mission is boring and almost tedious.
This expansion introduces you to Aria as a playable character, which was a lot of fun to use, since she's given some pretty explosive biotic powers to utilize. You're also introduced to a female Turian who is either Aria's former lover or ex-best friend. You never really get an answer. Seeing a female Turian reminded me of the joke surrounding Leia from Star Wars. It seemed like she was the only female in the galaxy, apparently this is the only female Turian in the galaxy.
Anyway, you find out that Cerberus is making more of their own monsters using Reaper tech, and they now are called Adjutants. These are nothing more than lumbering enemies with biotic powers. Nothing you haven't seen before.
Most of the campaign is pretty straightforward. You aren't given the option to explore Omega at all, and are confined to the battle zones and tunnels during the campaign. It's just the same old enemies you've fought before. Atlas machines, Cerberus infantry, etc.
What was even more disappointing was that Omega wasn't given a node to travel to once the campaign was complete. They should have just ported the ME2 map and added some characters to give you the sense of the universe opening up. It could have easily been a new place to gain weapons, explore, etc. once you freed it from Cerberus.
Also, it's not like this campaign has any bearing on the already notorious ending that, even with the new content added over the summer, is still disappointing.
You're forced to make mostly Renegade choices in the expansion. Not that any of this matters, because, again, the ending doesn't really change.
Overall, if you need to have the complete ME3 storyline, you'll want this. Otherwise, it's just new content you'll play through once and think nothing of it. I'd say rent it, but you can't. Hope you get a gift card for Xmas and waste it on this if you really have to have it. Otherwise, don't bother.

The newest expansion for ME3 was disappointing, but it wasn't without its bright moments.

The latest addon for ME3 doesn't bring anything new to the game, and is by far the least interesting addon to date.
