Could have demolished Kai Leng, right?

I'd like to think so. I'm pretty sure Thane never broke into a targets home just to eat their cereal like Leng did.

Even he said it himself. "He should be ashamed of being chased off by a diseased half-dead Drell". Thane in his prime could probably murder everyone on the Citadel one-by-one without being detected.

Okay maybe that's an exaggeration, but obviously Thane was very, very good at his job.

This makes me laugh more than it should. I'm just imagining Kai Leng breaking into random people's homes, raiding the cereal cupboard, and then leaving. Even better if there were people who paid him to do it. "Aha! That'll teach those jerks to mess with me!"

I don't think that's an exaggeration. Remember the One Hour Massacre?

That's pretty much the consensus, considering a half-dead Thane still almost won (and even forced Leng to run away).

I'd go so far as to say that Thane in his prime was probably capable of stomping most of the series' characters 1v1.

Of course, easily. Thane was the best assassin in the galaxy.

Only so long as Kai Leng didn't have a sharpened toothbrush. They work wonders against biotics.

Hmm, this is getting me thinking. Yep, let's do it.

    ITT: Canon battles

Let's drop two random fighters into a scenario where they have to kill each other and think about who wins.

    Thane beats Kai Leng.

How about Thane vs. Garrus. Go.

Thane's a badass, biotic martial arts master, yes I like to believe in him.
  • Apr 8, 2012 1:28 pm GMT
Thanes an assassin. He could kill pretty much anyone by sniping them while they are sleeping/pooping/eating.

In a straight up fight, I don't think Thane could beat Kai Leng and his reaper tech augmentations.

If Thane was in his prime, Kai Leng would have never even known he was there. There would only be a dead, stiff corpse, and silence.

Thane wins. Garrus is a marksman and never even sees Thane until he's in striking distance.

I'm not so sure about that... I think in this case, it's going to be whoever figures out where the other one is first. If Garrus can find Thane, and get him in his sights first, Garrus takes it. Once Thane knows where Garrus is, though, it's game over Turian.

Not a fan of Leng. Besides looking entirely ridiculous in my opinion, there's something not all that BA about blocking shots with a forcefield and occasionally flipping around for no real reason. Thane, on the other hand, did plenty of pretty impressive things.

Well here's the other thing to bear in mind - Thane's a biotic. Assuming Garrus DOES manage to spot him, that gun can be out of his hands in a hurry.

Again, only if Thane knows he's there.

If Garrus gets the shot, it's game over, Garrus wins. If Thane finds Garrus before he gets the shot, it's game over, Thane wins.

Thane has much more experience hiding/assassinating/sneaking then Garrus. In all likelihood, Thane would spot Garrus first. That said, Garrus is the better front line soldier when it comes to holding the line.

If you read Thane's bio at the Shadow Broker base, you already know he can kill pretty much anyone/anything in hand-to-hand combat without much difficulty.

Or at the very least, blow them up.

People are seriously underestimating Garrus here. The dude held off three gangs single-handedly by camping behind a bridge with a Sniper Rifle. If Garrus can find a good unapproachable tactical position, Thane wouldn't even get close enough to sneak up on him.
