Producer Casey Hudson solicits gamer feedback regarding if next Mass Effect game should take place before trilogy or after.
um no i wouldn't like a prequel actually... I don't even wanna play any of mass effects 1-3 because i have the thought of the terrible ending stuck in my head whenever i hear "Mass Effect."
That depends will they do a better job with this new game than the piece of shit they called ME3? I've lost faith in this company.
That depends, would they be able to do a better job with this new game, instead of shiting on it like they did with ME3? I have lost faith in this company, idiots <_<
Would really like to see a sequel. I love Shepard's story but I don't want the series to be confined just to him with a prequel on his story. There are a lot of directions they could go with a prequel though.
@minister666 ME4 is a prequel (common sense). It will definately tell about how shepard was chosen to lead the normandy. I to want to know about shepards conflict on the front lines.
Sequel facing an extragalactic threat the reapers were actually protecting us from in our ignorance, while clearing the name of the Shepard, a spectre said to have fallen to indoctrination but whose true story was lost after a century of war to reclaim the galaxy. The truth rumored to be contained in something called a T-soni capsule.
i think that a sequel would be quite challenging, but a prequel is not a bad idea either... i just want more mass effect, hahaa!
@TheThoughtless1 Well, yeah, but a sequel doesn't have to be one about the original characters. Heck, It could be hundreds of years later and the only mention of them could be in a history book.
I don't know how'd they top the reapers without some crazy twist...but I'd like that better than a prequel to be honest.
I think for people who are already fans of Mass Effect are going to say prequel, simply because we've been hearing about all these different past events throughout the three games; also I'd just like to forget about the Reapers, I'm not a fan.
...And in response to the little ME cartoon quip regarding the ambiguity in feedback...to clarify that would be BOTH! And both well-deserved!
New character new time a new story i think its time to let shepard go its getting a bit to much and dragging out shepards story will only ruin it there is more depth in the mass effect universe to explore ah new hero or heroin witch you can choose the species of would be cool and would leave a lot of room for many more mass effect games.
I?d love to see more space exploration, to have more freedom in making decisions and to play different race characters. Rise and fall of the Protheans, the Krogan rebellions and the First Contact War are nice options for ME prequel. It would be nice to have another trilogy!
Prequel please. As much as I would to see where the series would go from the 3rd game. I would love to play out some of the conflicts that actually shaped the Mass Effect universe.
how about doing something completely new, instead of squeezing the cash-cow dry? ... never mind, i just realized how ridiculous that would be.
I love mass effect. not just for the characters but for the universe itself. I would love to see some new characters to explore the universe with. I also agree that a different point in time would be really cool as well. :)
a sequel set 1000's of years in the future would be cool that way it can be a whole new story with new aliens and game mechanics
I for one would like to be able to play some of the events referenced in the story so far. Playing through the Krogan Rebellion, the Rachni Wars, or even the First Contact War could be really cool. I think there's plenty of storytelling to be done there, and just because there are certain results and consequences to those events in ME 1 thru 3, it doesn't mean "alternative" results couldn't be possible in the game. After all, there are different possibilities for major events leading in to ME3, depending on the choices one made or didn't make. This is one of the great aspects of variable story-telling- it doesn't all have to "fit" together
@Prometheus Not really, it's pretty simple. Set the game 100(or more) years after Mass Effect 3's Ending and don't show any of the original characters, this way they can create a new original story with ouz going into the past orrrr they could set it only a few years after the Ending and allow people to port over their save files from ME3.
I think it would be best to focus on events that took place prior to the trilogy because it would allow the story to stand completely on its own and therefore maybe depart a little bit from the Mass Effect aesthetic and narrative. There's fertile ground to expand on the background history. On the other hand, writers would have more freedom if they chose to work on events that take place after the trilogy. The blurry endings leaves a lot of ambiguity in terms of narrative.
