I've done three playthroughs of ME2 and ME3, all of them Soldier. Don't care of any other class.

It's all just opinion, but I like infiltrator and vanguard. I'm going to try adept when i get the trilogy though since it's the only class i haven't played.

I usually run the engineer class because I love it's powers. Overload and AI hacking FTW!!!

I tend to play infiltrator, vanguard, or adept. I feel the combat approach is very different for each one. I don't like soldier. The lack of powers just was not very enjoyable.

That's understandable. The reason why I like playing as Soldier is because I don't like dealing with powers (unless it's with my teammates) and I'm focused entirely on third-person shooting, kind of like if this was Dead Space or the later Resident Evil games.

Always preferred soldier myself. They are best with all the weapons, and are the only ones that can use heavy armor.

In terms of Mass Effect 1 the soldier is probably the best class due to it's invincibility as you progress further into the skill tree.

Of the classes I've used Vanguard. I've done one playthrough of ME1 as an engineer, and one of ME2 as a soldier. All of my other playthroughs have been as a Vanguard.

I love the Infiltrator. Only problem, they kinda nerfed the slowdown in ME3, cause there's an attachment for Sniper Rifles that enhances it.

personally i go with soldier and well is just a matter of play stile for each person thou i heard engineer is really useless in the first game

Infiltrator all the way! Sniper Rifles, Pistols(something just feels right going through a gunfight with a pistol), bullet time and cloaking can't be beat.

I've only used Soldier so far, but I want to experiment a bit once I get ME1 and can do the whole story. So far, I like having the whole arsenal at my disposal, and the Adrenaline Rush really makes a difference in shoot-outs.

This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible to change classes between games while maintaining the same profile? Like, start ME1 with a Soldier profile and then shift class to Vanguard for ME2 without altering anything else?

    Depends on the Difficulty
    But in general (IMO)

ME1: Soldier or Adept w/ Assault Rifles
    ME2: Adept or Engineer
    ME3: Infiltrator

I love the vanguard the most.

I also love the Soldier Class. I go with Assault Rifles, and Pistols. In ME3, I use a Pistol with a Scope, and The Cerberus Harrier Rifle.

i like playing as a soldier too. i just turn my squad power usage to off. so i can manually use my teammates powers on people. so its basically like playing all those other classes anyway

All of the classes are really fun in ME2 and ME3 (ME1 classes aren't really -super- different where they have completely different playstyles), but I'm currently playing Engineer in ME3 and it's by far my favorite.

Being able to throw out a sentry, up to two drones, and use powerful tech skills that can destroy any sort of protection (shields, barriers, armor), plus tech explosions?

It's a huge step up from ME2's Engineer class and you're just an absolute powerhouse.

I'm gonna play Adapt next time around tho.

In ME1 I found the best class was a solider cross class to commando. They have Massive firepower, and you can use fitness, and boost your armor like crazy. You're pretty much invincible
