    Version 1.0

This FAQ is made for newcomers and returning players who are most likely asking questions about pretty much anything concerning the Mass Effect Trilogy. The information gathered here comes from various legit sources and people here who have posted links to confirmed news. Thanks to those people.

Sorry if this FAQ isn't pretty, it's just meant to answer questions to those who want to buy the trilogy. With new information that we get, I will add it here to the FAQ with a *NEW* beside it.

How much is the trilogy and when does it come out?

The Mass Effect Trilogy comes out December 4th, 2012 and is priced at $59.99.

Besides the three games you get, what else do we get for buying the trilogy?

The trilogy will come in a special foil box containing artwork of Commander Shepard. It'll also come with some, but not all, downloadable content. The content are as follows:

    Mass Effect
Bring Down the Sky will be integrated into the game. Pinnacle Station will not be included because the source is corrupted.

    Mass Effect 2
The trilogy version of this game has the same downloadable content as the copy that come out for PS3 when it was first released. This includes the Cerberus Network, Kasumi - Stolen Memory, Overlord, and Lair of the Shadow Broker.

    Mass Effect 3
Only the online pass is included here. It's just as it was when the game was first released without any downloadable content.

Will my Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 save files work with the trilogy?

Yes, they will. All versions of ME2 and ME3 are compatible with each other.

What if I already have the second and third games and want to buy just the first game?

You can download it on the PlayStation Store the same day the trilogy comes out. You will never find a physical copy of Mass Effect 1 in stores unless you buy the trilogy itself.

So, how much will Mass Effect 1 cost to download?

    $14.99.

Will Mass Effect 1 be on disc or will it be a downloadable code in the trilogy?

At this point, there's no word about whether or not ME1 will be physical or digital. Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

    (Continued)

Will Mass Effect 1 include trophies?

    Yes.

How about Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3? Are any trophies changed or added?

My belief is that there won't be any changes since the trilogy versions of ME2 and ME3 are the exact same.

Will I have to buy downloadable content again if I buy the trilogy?

    No.

I heard that that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 1 will be different than the Xbox 360 version. Is that true?

It is true, partly. Ryan Warden, the external producer of the Mass Effect Trilogy, wrote a blog about this. He said that the game engine used for the Xbox 360 version is not compatible with the PS3 version. It took an external team to create a new engine for ME1 on the PS3. In a way, it's not really a port. We won't know more about the PS3 version until it releases, or close to anyway.

Any word on what the download size will be for Mass Effect 1?

Not yet. Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Will the trilogy version of Mass Effect 3 have the Extended Cut ending included?

No, as far as I know. You can download it for free at the PlayStation Store, though the size of the download is fairly big. It would be nice just to have it on disc instead of waiting a long time for it to download.

You forgot one piece of important info.

Importing ME 1 onto 2 then 2 onto 3. The 360 does this like a charm.

But since ME 1 is a new deal on the PS3 with a new engine this could pose promblems importing ME 1 onto ME 2.

I also think they enhanced ME 1 meaning up-to-date style such as ME 2 or 3 was compared to the original 360 version.

Trophies have been included only deal is not known if importing ME 1 onto the other games.

Also War Assests from ME 1 will they be able to inter-act with ME 3 such as my 360 Trilogy did.

I am getting this game Day 1 Of the Release I will post more when I find it.

I think it's been confirmed that ME1 will be on disk if you buy the retail trilogy edition

Bioware already stated importing won't be an issue. All three games will be fully compatible.

I think he/she was confused cause of Mass Effect 1 being a new deal entirely and woudnt be able to import cause of the new engine.

They are having this same issue with DA 3 with importing Origins & 2 cause of 3 being on FrostBite so they are thinking of making a pre choice listings such as 2 had.

ME 4 using Frostbite like 3 will also be a promblem if Bioware told us to keep our files for ME 4 it could also pose a promblem cause ME Trilogy dosent run on Frostbite.

Both ME 4 & DA 3 will run on Frostbite such as NFS The Run did this means those 2 games will be on current-gen.

But ME 1 onto 2 then 2 onto 3 will work just like the 360 does only diffrence ME 1 has been overhauled & uses a new engine cause of the porting deal couldnt work properly on the PS3 so basically ME 1 redone from the ground up.

ME 1 has BDTS cause of tech issues will not have Pinnacle but they could redo it such as ME 1 but could be sometime on that.

ME 1 is included on disk in the trilogy set, will not be on disk as stand-alone, will also be Day 1 digital for those that just want ME 1 not the other 2 games.

14.99 for Digital, Trilogy is 59.99 360, PS3 & PC and Omega comes on Novem 27th for 360 only then in December on PS3 + PC.

More DLC is in the works over the next 6 months. CITADEL is the next Rumored DLC.

Probably Early in December maybe around the 1st or 2nd Week I think you can google it just type in Omega PS3 Release Date and see if you can.

I also think the new engine for ME 1 is the reason for the month delay on ME 1 & ME Trilogy.

The game is still the same as the 360 version but enhanced, HD, and more modern maybe on par with ME 2 or almost 3.

ME 4 will be no Shepard it will be a new MC in a new direction, unknown in the timeline when ME 4 will take place but it will be a sequel or it could be a stand-alone game meaning ME with a Sub-Title.

It hasnt been confirmed yet that it is called Mass Effect 4 all we know is that the new game will not have Shepard.

Bioware has stated many times that Shepard will not be seen, used in any future new Games only the new ME Movie based on the 1st Film will have Shepard in it and be around that game.

I am hoping for new Enemies, no more Reapers and something new entirely for the new game.

Also I think that the new game could also still be this Gen using Frostbite and Bioware asking us to keep our files suggests it will be on current-consoles.

Dragon Age 3 is also asking us to keep our files and it also uses Frostbite.

Omega is coming out the same date as the 360 and PC on Nov 27 that article was wrong ( The person doing the article didn't even know who Aria was )

Where did people hear that ME1 is getting an entirely new engine? All I've heard from Bioware is that they were trying to reduce load times and glitches. I understand the PS3 uses a different framework than the 360, but I don't see how thinking adjusting for that leads to an entirely new engine. They just have to tweak it.

The 360 version couldnt be used on the PS3 Port this is the reason for the month delay on the PS3 side of things.

This is also why Pinnacle Station also couldnt be done on the PS3.

So Bioware made a new engine of ME 1 basically a new enhanced deal the better version such as ME 2 was diffrent than the 360 version.

Tweaked, Enhanced and better graphics but we do get BDTS so I really dont care about Pinnacle I have that on my 360.
