So the only way to get ME1 in disc form is to buy the Trilogy set?

I don't want Digital. If so, I will trade my ME2 & ME3 copies.

It would seem so...... but with only a month to go and still no word on how many discs the PS3 version will be, I'm scared to death that we might just end up with a box containing ME2, and ME3 on 2 discs and *ugh* a download code for ME1.

Now that you mention that, I will keep my ME2 & ME3 copies until further info.

That won't happen. I'm sure ME1 will be on disc in the trilogy set. It would seem really stupid if they include a digital download code for ME1 instead. It wouldn't be a "complete" trilogy that way.

You never know, God of War Saga has all 5 games but only 1, 2 & 3 are in disc form, CoO & GoS are code voucher for free Digital download when they were available in Disc form in the Origin Collection.
Because of that I bought GOW HD collection, GOW3 & GOW: Origin Collection separately.

You bring up a valid point actually. I hope this isn't the case with ME1 then...

according to bioware :
"The PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect Trilogy will have the original Mass Effect with Bring Down the Sky integrated into the game,
both on-disc and on the PSN download. Mass Effect 2 will still have the same DLC on-disc that it was originally shipped with: Cerberus Network; Kasumi; Overlord; and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Finally, Mass Effect 3 will also be exactly as it originally shipped."

Friends,
is there any video of how ME 1 looks on a ps3? like from a demo at a game site, or a convention?
I am just wondering if they took there ps3 engine for me3, and just put the me1 game content into it?? Why make me1 work on the ps3, when you already have a good engine for me3, just sitting there.
Seems strange. I want to get me3, i might this week, but not im not sure, because I will have a ME2 and a ME3 on disk .and THEN want a mE Trilogy. Its like buying the game games twice.
thank you.

i think from the statement by bioware, the porting is done by third party. So hopefully they do a great job, not a straight up port with bugs at every corner of the game.

No offense, but what does it matter? I mean I like hard copies as well, but I wouldn't sell games I already own to re-buy them in a set.
That's the reason I purchased Killzone off PSN instead of buying the collection. I already own KZ2 & KZ3 on discs. I wouldn't trade them in for $6 total to turn around and re-buy them.
Good thing for me is I never purchased ME3 and only dabbled in ME2. ME1 was the only one that I was completely hooked on for weeks back in '07. It's also the one I finished and enjoyed immensely. ME2 was too combat focused for my taste.

Well there's still some crazy psychos out there who actually prefer a hard copy (if available) over a digital download.
I'm one of them.
Personally, I have the original print of ME1, and the collector's editions of ME2, and ME3 for Xbox. Although I prefer playing games on PS3 I never picked up 2, or 3 because of the absence of 1...... This release is like a freaking dream come true for me, honestly.

I agree entirely.

With ME1 being a $14.99 digital download day one of release Im thinking the PS3 Trilogy will be packed with a ME1 download voucher.
If thats the case theres no point for ME2 and 3 owners on PS3 to get the trilogy.

Well...I'm currently on dial-up, so while it is possible to connect a PS3 to PSN by using my PC...I don't really feel like spending a couple of weeks to download Mass Effect.

I'm in the same boat, pal. Alwayse wanted to play the series. With this trilogy I can finally do it.
