Anyone notice they don't capitalize "god" in the subtitles?

Its a name, though. You don't capitalize God because he's God, you capitalize God because its a name. You DO capitalize names, don't you?

The topic isn't even about the existence of god and people still come in here with **** like this.

This is why I was afraid of making the topic. I thought it might turn into an atheist circle-jerk.

That's why you never should have made it, atheists--the insecure bunch that they are--will seize on any opportunity to denounce God and any religion. Pandora only comes out of the box, he doesn't go back in.

The funniest part of this quote? Atheists just had to prove it to be true lol.

No offense Atheists - but you aren't going to be changing any minds on the internet so why bother with starting a debate? You totally got called on that on page 2.

As for the REAL debate:

God should be capitalized when referring to God himself as a name.
(example: "Thank God we made it!!"

God doesn't 'have' be capitalized when not referring to a specific God
(example: "If there is a god out there, where is he?"

I think that's correct.

So they're morons for posting their opinion? If that's the case, the religious are also morons cause they post their beliefs too. Those guys who put those "if you believe in Jesus Christ and are 100% proud, put this in your sig" must also be morons. So the opposite of what a moron believes must be truth...

Instead of getting defensive about what someone believes, why not ignore them? Isn't that what most competent people do? When a Witness tries to hand me a pamphlet, I don't get all defensive and call them morons, I politely decline it and walk away. Why can't you do that?

They can do whatever they want, and couch it in faith, or not, but religion as a whole is damaging to our progress as a society.

Take American politics: Conservatives believe we shouldn't help the poor, even though Jesus himself broke bread and shared with the poor, was a champion for the disenfranchised, and proclaimed that a rich man has a better chance threading the eye of a needle than actually getting into Paradise.

I like Christ, I do not like Christians. They are so unlike Christ.

That's what I get for trying to quote the Bible after two beers (I'm a lightweight).

But yeah, point remains: Jesus wasn't a big fan of the rich, and got real mushy with the poor. And that's the complete polar opposite of mainstream conservative thinking.

TC asks a simple question

No need to bring religion and start a debate.

I'm neither Christian or Atheist but from the posts i've read the Atheists are really going hard to roast on Christianity. Like it was said before, you're (being general here) not going to magically change a person's belief on teh internet with your opinion tbh and its irrelevant to continue bringing in religion into this argument.

At least try to have an intelligent discussion on both sides without going HERP DERP there's no God and it should not be capitalized because I don't view/think it should be in my perspective. And I seriously LOL'd at that Pippy guy with his argument about if he/she doesn't view/think of it as being capitalized then it shouldn't be and then tried to be cool by typing santa claus with no caps. When used in the right context God in capitalized, it doesn't matter what your beliefs are. Maybe it's because Christianity has been a dominant religion all these years, I don't know.

But like I said and was said earlier, no one is able to change someone's views/opinions/beliefs on the interwebz cause we are all just random strangers on a Gfaqs board...

TL;DR God is capitalized when used in the right context, no matter what your beliefs may be, grammer rules don't change because you don't except a thought/belief/etc.

What does any of this have to do with Max Payne 3? Talk about an epic derail.

I wouldn't mind so much if this were anything resembling a thoughtful, enlightening discussion, but from what I can see it's mostly just the same old "I'm better than you because I have faith in Christ!/I'm better than you because I'm smarter!" back and forth nonsense, and I can read that anywhere. Knock it off.
