And who the hell was becker that came out of nowhere. And what happened to Passo. Passo was the guy he was being a guard with and the guy who shot the guido kid in the bar with max.

I'll help explain but I don't understand your questions.

So, did you happen to skip over the cutscenes?

Becker was head of the police regiment UFE which played a large part in the plot of the game. Becker was there in the beginning and was seen talking to the Broncos often. You don't realize his involvement in everything until Chapter 12 though.

There is also a cutscene with Passos specifically saying that he is leaving with his girlfriend, right before you storm the police station to root out Becker.

There's a reason you don't understand the story. It's because it was executed terribly. The developers tried too hard to be as good as Max Payne 1 and failed disastrously

I think people expect the story to come out and smack you in the face when the a major plot point happens.

Becker is right there at the very beginning of the game...they build upon this throughout the game...what questions do you have?

Who were the guys in the last scene at the stadium? The one who is about to fire a RPG and the other guy tells him it's not worth it.

Becker was at the end of the very first level even, right after you save the girls husband. He is also in Branco HQ at the beginnig talking with Victor and them.

Those guys are constantly referred to as the "paramilitary group". They are the underground group that works with the UFE.

Oh I know who the company was but I thought they might be significant characters. More so since they actually speak.

The two guys at the end of the stadium level were the boss and second in command of the paramilitary group. You kill the guy with the rocketlauncher right after he burns Marcelo in the tires( you kill him with a machete in a button prompt sequence). The other guy gets killed by Passos at the top of the building that houses the organ stealing business.

I feel like if the game just had a bit more screen time with the baddies then it would have been easier to see how they fit into the plot. That being said I don't think they messed up this story as much as some might say; I typically don't get every facet of a video game or movie plot on the first playthrough/viewing.

Storywise, MP3 has nothing on MP1 or 2

Nostalgia has nothing to do with it! Other than Max, none of the characters were likeable or anyone I wanted to root for, I didn't give a crap about the family members Max was trying to rescue because they were not well developed nor did I care about the villains because like all the other characters, they had zero development as characters

Not only that but I never felt like Max had any business doing the stuff he did and ultimately couldn't relate to his journey like he had in 1 and 2

1 had a simple premise with a simple yet easy to hate villain
2 had a more complex story but still well told like 1 and had a well developed villain with Vlad
3 didn't have a good story or characters

I loved the game overall, gameplay, music, environments etc were phenomenal but for a MP game the story and characters sucked a big one

I'm sorry for the very late reply but your response is basically again... an opinion

Narrative-wise, this has a VERY strong story and while the supporting cast does take a backseat that's where they're SUPPOSED to be. Compared to everything else in the industry TODAY, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything that has the production value or emphasis on actual script-writing that MP3 has. R* delivered here, if you want to see a shoddy narrative, play LA Noire for a good comparison. I'm not even going to get into that game, but the story-telling was pretty weak in comparison to other R* titles. Still pretty strong, but it's their black sheep for sure.

This game is called Max Payne 3, not Max and Brazilian Friends Shoot and Kill Bang-Bang Adventure Time. The story of a man and his own personal demons, and how he faces them and hopefully is a better man in the end, everything else is unfortunately collateral. That's how it's supposed to be with this series, but again, if you don't like the story here...it's fine good for you.

I'm just saying, this game got through the story to the end without any experimental drugs or secret societies. The story here was real, and gritty, and if you have any experience in the tourist industry or out of state politics and relations you'll realize that things can get ugly like it did here very quickly. The only difference is the once responsible usually don't meet their end at the hands of Max Payne. Lol

Sorry for the long post, I'm not attacking you man, I'm just trying to provide some insight.

You're not really SUPPOSED to care about Fabiana in a sense. Max doesn't even particularly like her, but he sees saving her as a way to atone for his wife's death, which he feels was his fault. She represents his one chance at redemption, but she dies too. This is also probably why he lets Passos go; Passos and Giovanna and their unborn child have the chance at a life that Max was denied.

This story is a lot more subtle than previous MP games and I happen to think that works to it's benefit. It's a more focused, grounded narrative. MP 1 starts off with the Mafia and then goes crazy and decides it wants to be about secret societies of powerful men and evil arms corporations trying to make military enhancement drugs.
