I don't think Payne 3 sold too well but I'd like to see a 4th Payne game. 3 ends in such a way that a sequel or not works well with it. Either way I'm not fussed but maybe this could be a MP4 dream thread.
I think we'd get a love story, again, but this time much more positive. Max has moved on and stops feeling sorry for himself and this allows him to live his life as he was told multiple times through 3 that life is worth living.
He'll be in a small community just relaxing and helping out. A single mom keeps flirting with him and he can't help but flirt back. It's all going great until some gang members show up and start wreaking havoc. Bad luck for them as Max is there and kills them off. He has to follow the trail and work his way up yet again, this time to protect a village, a community and his new love.

Max gets a fairly positive ending in MP3. I think the poor guy deserves a rest.If MP4 was a spin-off, with an entirely new character, then I'd be cool with that

Yeah it would be redundant to bring Max back again for a whole other war. It's make it too unbelievable IMO. If there's a 4th game, I'd want there to be a new main character with maybe Max as support (maybe in an advisory role). They could probably do something where someone is on the run (from the law, the mob, PMCs, whatever) and they need to find Max to clear their name or something along those lines.

I don't see the point in a Max Payne game without Max Payne. If the character is played out by now, then the series should probably end.

I think the best thing to do would be to have 4 take place sometime between 2 and 3, set in new york and bring back all the noir stuff this game was lacking

Nah a reboot would be old hat I think. I'm glad they replaced the dark, dreary feel of NYC with Brazil. It still retained it's noir character, while adding some much needed environment change.
