Hey, was thinking of picking this up again (disc 1 broke), as the mp was amazing.
Is the free aim mp still kicking? Bear in mind I'm from NZ/Aus, thanks!

Not really. I had to search both free aim and lock-on just to find any games. I was surprised it was that dead and on a triple XP weekend

Triple XP announcements aren't covered on the dashboard as far as I can tell, so a lot of the announcements are on the dedicated Rockstar Websites that not many people will see.

I tried getting on the mp last weekend and realized it won't let me play until I get all the multiplayer DLC. That's a stupid move on Rockstar's part IMO

its talking about the free DLC and compatibility packs, i never paid a cent for any DLC but you can find me murking fools in deathmatch often

Which packs are these? It didn't let me play either and directed me to the rockstar all-access pass for 2400 points. I wouldn't mind mopping up a few multi achieves.

Never mind, found it. Wow, that was really counter-intuitive, and I wouldn't be surprised if lots of potential players were turned off by thinking they needed to buy the DLC.

It must be, I have a friend that is playing Max Payne 3 every day. Also if DuhBadGuy is here, i see him playing that game when he pops on.
I am thinking about getting back into the on-line, especially since they have a new co-op DLC thing.

Basically, it takes you to rockstar season pass dlc by default, but if you go back in the menu and view all, it will have a larger list of everything. There are 3 multiplayer compatibility packs, and thats what you need.

Did they fix the connectivity issues and bugs that became worse after the 1st DLC? Like falling through the map or people being invisible?

I just picked the game back up (not having played since last Summer) and the Free aim multiplayer was still alive and kicking. I had no problems finding a match, although it was usually against an entire clan with me playing with randoms... you know how well that turns out.
