MP3 continues the story of the washed up gravel voiced, pill popping New York detective. Its strong narrative story drives you along at break-neck speed, throwing you from one explosive set-piece to the next with joyful abandon. For a Rockstar title, some may complain it's a little linear. However the plot's immersive qualities ensure that this can be forgiven. The true fans of the series won't be disappointed either.
One of the nice move by the rockstar with the story is not all of the action set in Brazil - you do get to pay a visit your old stomping ground NY city too.
In the first two Max Payne games, when you cleared an area of enemies or killed a boss, the final kill would always be a slow motion kill shot. This features returns but with a new spin, whenever you reach the final kill cam, you have the option to slow time and also continue to firing at the enemy. The level of gory detail in the kill cam is astounding as you see the bullets enter the body in all its bloody glory and the effect each bullet has on the corpse.
At around ten hours, the expansive single-player campaign mode along with the other arcade elements are worth the game to play. Over all its a must play to die hard fans of Max Payne
Graphics : 10/10
Sound : 10/10
Story : 9/10
Gameplay : 9.5/10
Overall : 9.5/10
