- "Grows on you"
Nine years have passed since we joined Max Payne, and he hasn't been much better. He remains a man haunted by the deathes of his wife and child and still finds the bottle as his best friend. We join Max in a different setting than the urban streets of New York through most of the game. He is now working for a man in South Palo and finds himself in a dark grisly story that grips and holds you at the edge of your seat from beginning to finish. When the wife of his client is kidnapped, Max Payne goes through a series of gun battles to find her and stumbles into more than he bargains for. The environments and details he explores are beautiful. The visuals show detail and makes the game fun to watch as well as to play it. The script of the game is solid with terrific voice acting and gives great twists and keeps you interested in what happens next. There are however many cutscenes and some players might not agree to more story than action at some points. But that does not keep Max Payne 3 from being a fun game to play. Max Payne 3 is a violent game and is the most violent in the game. Slow-mo gives players the chance to whip out some bloody gun battles in the game. When you kill the last enemy in a room, the slow-mo camera works to show the grisly detailed final blow in an enemy's head and so on. The controls are simple and wants you to deliever absolute carnage. However fun the gameplay is in Max Payne 3, it is a difficult game. Even on the easiest difficulty, gun fights can be frustrating and some enemies seem to be bullet sponges. Max Payne 3's gameplay is all about taking your time as you progress. Which can be a let down espcially when you what to see the possiblities of kills. It won't be long before you run out of painkillers and need to slow down. After finishing the game, you can play the arcade modes to score challenges and run through the game to collect gold weapons and find all clues in the game. The multiplayer in Max Payne 3 is fun. It's not revolutionary, but Gang Wars is more carnage and pays off with great rewards. Max Payne 3 delievers a great narrative and gameplay, but can be frustrating and takes control away from the player at times. But that does not prevent this game from being a success. 9/10

Another healthy dose of drugs, booze and bullets from Rockstar. A brilliantly refined third person shooting experience.
