I'm sorry but Max Payne 3 just isn't a fun game. That's the point of gaming, remember? To have fun? Who thought it would be fun to be forced to sit through five minutes of cheesy cut scenes at the beginning of every game? And then more cut scenes? And more? And more? And more?

Seriously, I don't think it's even fair to use words like "shooter" or "game" to describe Max Payne 3. It's more of a wanna-be bad movie with occasional moments of frustrating shooting.

The mechanics are pretty familiar to me, having played the previous two games in the series, but the third time around is definitely not the charm. I have tried to like it, really tried, on multiple occasions, but I just can't tolerate 80% cut scenes and 20% gaming.

And then on the rare occasions when I actually get to shoot I've got to deliver a veritable cavalcade of bullets to take down any thug. The bullet time mechanic is still there to make head-shots easier, which are pretty much the only way to avoid running out of ammo, but it's just not entertaining.
