MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right

- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
I have played multiple MechWarrior games and own Mech Warrior 4. I Have also played and formerly owned the original MechAssault. Compared to those games this title is just lame, not that they were much better. The concept of giant robots reducing each other to a pile of scraps with powerful and unique weaponry could be an amazing game. The issue is that they seem to be having trouble with immersion and story. When I play this game I do not feel at all as if I am piloting the mech or like I am in any way a part of what is going on. The story is god awful and inspires zero motivation to complete the campaign. Multiplayer seems good as well as the conquest mode, but the simple fact is that this game at its current level of innovation and quality will never attract a community large enough to sustain those two game modes. I hope some day in the future a game from this series or one that is a spiritual successor rises from the ashes of its predecessors and turns out to be spectacular, intense, and innovative gaming experience. As for now the Mechs are out of commission.
