though i wasn't around in the days of the original megaman games for NES i can tell that megaman 9 is as old school as it gets. the music, the awful cover art (this time it was intentional) and most importantly the beautiful 8-bit graphics make the whole experience feel like its from the 80's. the gameplay is fantastic, difficulty ranges from just right to really, really hard, the soundtrack is freakin' amazing, the eight levels are great the boss battles are fun (though some of the weapons are broken) and the shop where you can buy items like E-tanks and items that make the game easier in exchange for bolts found throughout the games eight levels. the downloadable content, tons of challenging achievements, time trail mode and up to 8 different save files gives this game many hours of replay data. one complaint i have is the awful storyline; wily frames doctor light for his evil doings and nobody even suspects that wily is behind it all... wow... overall this game is worth 50 dollars..... but you can buy it for only 10 dollars worth of Wii points!!! an absolute must have for any fan of the series!
