I won't watch the other videos, but the first one at the top (Which is spoiler free for anyone wanting to avoid spoilers. It shows a demo area) really clears up the Left Arm/Spine dilemma. So apparently you have to choose one or the other. Choosing the spine means you can't get the arm, which means you'll need to decide between health and power.

What does getting the arm benefit you?

AND

What the? Raiden has a Stinger Missile equipped on that ferris wheel video, I WANT TO TRY IT ON THE HELICOPTER!

Also, removing the guy's hand doesn't seem to have killed him, so you'll potentially be able to do both... just probably not in the same BM activation.
