RAYs Seem To Drop Their Hyrdo-Cutter

    In the latest demo, they are shown shooting LASER BEAMS.

    The game goes into so much detail to explain about it's setting and technology via CODEC and back story.

    I'd really like to know more about when and why they got rid of the Hydro-cutters for the RAY.

    Maybe these models are not amphibian like before?

    Probably because a Godzilla like beam is more effective then using pressurized water. Looks cooler to.

    This. With the miniaturization of power technology, it's probably better and easier for RAYs built for land combat instead of sea combat. It'd be kinda like this RAY is an Army version of the original... Navy or Marine tech? Can't remember which branch was in the snapshot for the RAY back in MGS2.

    RAY was a Marine initiative to counter the Army's REX and all other copies after the events of MGS1

    These rays have been retool for ground and direct confrontation combat.
