OK short and simple. Cut my thumb up a few month back, its still not "normal" . Since it was so bad , my thumb since november, the top of it has been numb and i nicked the tendon causing pain and annoyance.
It still really bad, i just today accidentally bent it back injuring it further. I have the money to get the game when it comes out, but will I be able to keep up with it? I dont do well with QTE.s ,button mashing , etc. anymore.

here is my thumb in november when it happened. this was a week after I cut it.

its going to be a year maybe more before it heals. It also maybe will never go back to the way it was. Its hard to say. But I still game, just stuff like RE6 button mashing gets me , etc. Batman AC too.

Damn, that looks like a pretty serious injury. I would prioritize health here... No sense in screwing up your finger over a game.

Just out of curiosity... How did that happen?

Besides console exclusives gaming with a speedpad/keyboard and a mouse may be easier for you now and possibly in the long term depending on how well it heals. If it's a problem long term you could even look into alternative setups, like using XIM (Xbox Input Machine, easily modified for PS3 use) so you can use your own inputs (from pads meant for other consoles to anything else you can get a PC to recognise) and still continue to play PS3 doing more of the work with your left hand than your right thumb (like mapping face buttons to speedpad keys for your left, and using a mouse to do what right analog stick does and have the clickers and scrollwhell do R1, 2 and 3).

Don't risk messing it up further just to play through the game, play it on easy and ignore any button mashing if you have to. The only button mashing I can think of can be done with the left analog stick anyway, but I think this game is going to require a lot of right thumb work anyway...

Best of luck with how it heals!

honestly , i was trying to fix a electronic light up angel for christmas decor. and i put my hand through it.
i couldnt stop bleeding and the towel i had it wrapped up in , it wasnt doing anything to stop the bleeding. turns out everyone in the world could probably benefit from first aid training. i wasnt properly putting the right pressure in the right place to stop the bleeding.

the doctor walks in and hes like holy $&$@ thats a bad cut lol

i had my left arm over my head the whole time ,i couldnt look.
and the worst part isnt the stitches , its the needles for the freezing going into your skin.
