What happened?... I am definitely cautious about this. What happened to the concept first shown?

one thing i loved about metal gear was that it seemed realistic to me but rising is different after seeing this it makes me thing it gonna be another jrpg like no more heroes just with out the humor
Since when was raiden's character such a merciless killer who laughs at the people he's killed? I feel like the whole mgs concept of war being a terrible thing has been scrapped in this. Raiden fights because he must, not because he enjoys the slaughter... I find it hard to like him in this.
@Michael83917 Revengeance is slang for revenge/vengeance. Seeing as how english is your first language you should know that or at least be capable of researching it before you trash on it

Not gonna lie, I do like the fact of cutting people up like sushi, but It's not a metal gear game. Would like to see how this one turns out.
but even if it turns out terrible, there is still no need to be over-dramatic...it will not mean the end of MG, this is just a spin-off, the normal series should continue to be amazing whatever this game is like.

the hell!? Konami doesn't release much worth buying.. the one thing they were good at was MGS. Now they are teetering away from that to alternate franchise MGR but still using the metal gear name? It looks just like another ninja gaiden. Though... not entirely surprised if it is coming from Konami or out of Japan. Would be shocked if it rated anything above 7...

I don't know why this is catching so much flak. Calm down, people. It's not Metal Gear Solid. It's Metal Gear RISING.... just in case you morons cannot read a title. It's meant to be different. This has some pretty sweet potential, and seeing it being a Metal Gear game, even if it has over-the-top action, you know the story will be pretty deep. I'm gonna keep my eye on this!
This has the potential to be a good. It may not be a true MGS game, but I'd like to see how it is before I say yay or nay to it.
hm.. not fully convinced either =/ i mean, all you can see in this trailer is hacking, blood, raiden, vamp and.. hacking. but the core of the mgs series always was the story and there aren't many hints at the story in this trailer besides of a metal gear (being hacked), raiden and vamp
This... omg no. They just s#at all over metal gear. It's obvious a lot of artists and animators spent a lot of time and effort to make that look nice, and I feel so sorry for them. The design staff and writers who came up with this idea and the execs that signed off on it should be prepared "to take responsibility" for this mess. Also, as a more general note, if you are going to name something in a language that is not your first, maybe try doing some focus testing of the name with native speakers. Or maybe just try asking a friend who happens to be a native speaker? Someone as famous as Hideo Kojima must have a few English speaking contacts. Revengeance is not a word, and it sounds foolish. Whoever told you otherwise IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. The metal gear series has had too many of those kinds of blunders to list, but seriously, this one is right there in the title. This has epic fail written all over it.
I really hope that Konami keeps it the way they had it in the original reveal. I don't really like the whole idea of a MGS Game that's a button smasher.
Please Kojima take another year take the hole time to make this game better but don't make it like this
Look closely at the guy Raiden is fighting on the train,you can easily predict that its vamp from mgs 4.
looks like a bad dream hope, its just a spin off of the real series, kojima shouldnt have bent over for platinum games
It looks like all they did was take the setting and characters from MGS and make a hack and slash spin off. Please tell me this isn't going to become canon to the story.
Looks like that game Ninja Blade that came out a while back. But as long as it's still 4 hours of gameplay and 20 hours of dialog then I'm with it
after seeing the interview seems like kojima is putting his nose as producer enough to keep the game decent, and platinum has made some awsome games in the past ill give this one a try hopefully turns out good.
