Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Almost, but not quite"
This remake of one of the best titles for the PS2 is a great improvement but not without its flaws.
NOTE: The flaws of this game are not the game itself but rather the hardware being used to play it.
The gameplay is still great of course. The familiar sights of the jungle and sound of wildlife will please veterans of the series along with showing new recruits how great of an experience this can be.
The 3DS has its limitations which show up in numerous spots consisting mainly of frame rate and camera issues, making many wonder if this title was a good choice for the system. With the small screen it can be difficult to see exactly what's around you, sometimes mistaking a crocodile for a patch of moss or firing at a small animal rather than an enemy. These small issues can be overlooked however, by the amazing story, voice acting and controls.
It's great to have a game that's not entirely "kid oriented" as most of the DS & 3DS library aims for. This is not just another game makeover either; It's a chance to introduce one of the most original and stylized franchises to newcomers that will hopefully give this classic a chance.

The only 3DS game that has sucked me in as much as Ocarina of Time did is MGS3!

The game has great: replayability, characters, voice acting, and bosses. Snake is revamped again, available for 3DS!

Despite its flaws Snake Eater remains as gaming's best implementation of stealth gameplay
