Metal Gear solid is a great title among the many amazing playstation titles, and one I enjoy quite a bit. The Metal Gear sereis was made on one theory that in order to have a good action game you need stealth and espionage, and Hideo Kojima proved just that.

The story takes place on Shadow Moses Island as they approach Snake to come out of retiring and hunt down the new Metal Gear being built. As he travels to this Island he meets members of Foxhound. Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, and Liquid Snake, each with there own you unique abilities. As the game proceeds you learn more about Snakes past, what he is, what is really going on and why Foxhound is so interested in recovering Metal Gear. This my friends is espionage storytelling at its finest and the story only gets better as the games progress.

The combat may feel a bit dated by today's standards but that is no reason to avoid this timeless masterpeice. You move around and kill people with stealth, guns, and even sneak past them. You can also hide in cardboard boxes. All the references in games and TV nowadays come from somewhere right. So if you haven't played this game get on your PSN and download it or find a copy cause this is one game no gamer should miss out on. 9.5/10
