this game starts off as this guy who meets a guy at a diner where they teach you what to look for etc. at the beginning you can choose one of 3 or 4 cars, the Silvia S15, VW scirraco, datsun 280z and vw golf. your customizations are easy to work with like the wheels and body. you have lots of cars to choose from like the new camaro and new charger to ford gt and skyline r34.

the races come in 4 catigories, green easy, yellow normal, orange hard, red expert or hardest. you have different race types like red light, freeway, tourny and series. some races give you cars and some take your car for pinks.
you get several garages during your play in various places which is good.
the game is free roam around la with straights, shortcuts, hill roads freeways and more. police are everywere in this game so you have an indicator for them. when you see a cop or hear the indicator slow down unless your in a race. if they chase you, stop because 800+ cr isnt much for that.
