For some reason the random seeds I keep creating are always island maps

So after having played the 360 version of Minecraft for hours when it firsts came out, but then getting distracted by other stuff...I decided to come back and start a new world with all the updates. I'm the kind of player who likes to look for their own new, random seed. So I started putting in a bunch of random words and phrases and stuff.
Weird thing....I created five worlds in a row and every single one was just islands in the ocean. Mostly water with just small islands and almost nothing else. The second time it happened I thought I was going crazy and spent quite a bit of time swimming around and opening up most of the map to confirm that there wasn't a big continent there or something. After that, the same thing happened again, three more times after the first original two.
Am I doing something wrong, here? None of the words or phrases I put in had anything in common. Is this just some weird coincidence?

It seems like long seeds tend to have a lot of ocean. Short words/phrases with no spaces work best in my experience.

I tried Rannoch, and got a mountains surrounded by water. And a huge desert. Always with the deserts.
