I just started playing Minecraft again, and I spent thirty minutes loading seeds yesterday trying to find one I liked until I finally gave up. Loaded up this morning and the first one was great. You spawn at the edge of a thick forest with a large plains biome next to it that has plenty of animals and a village. On one end of the plains there is ocean with a mushroom island off in the distance, and on the other side there is a talga biome. A talga is hilly with trees and snow, right?
In the plains pretty close to the spawn point there is a huge cave opening. It's more of a canyon than a cave, and each end of it angles down into the ground. I was blown away when I ran up on it and saw these gaping black holes. After I got my house in order, I made a bunch of ladders and climbed down into it. It's probably 30-40 squares down in the shallow part. I've never found a cave system so large. I spent the next three hours running through caves. I ran into two abandoned mines, at least three monster spawners, and a few spider nests. This was all open from the original cave. I did no additional digging except to help navigate. Eventually I had my inventory full of iron and diamonds and gold and everything else, so I had to dig myself up to the surface since I was hopelessly lost. I've never had that much fun in Minecraft before. If you want to check it out, heres the seed.
