What logic gates would be needed

To make a working 3 digit calculator? The only method I can think of is using thousands of AND gates, and that obviously isn't the right method...

Well, first, you do use lots of AND gates. Also Minus, Times and difference gates. Lol. Dude, I'm ambitious with redstone but that's a hole different level. I was thinking of trying a song circuit after I get Dogbeats' Rock Paper Scissors works (if I can).

I've got an idea. I have to build and test. If you've got one up and working go for it and I'll just fiddle with mine for my world. I was thinking AND gate for each pick option and depending on the choice it would send a signal to either player A or B arrow shooter. When I get home I'm gonna jump in and I'll help out putting yours in since mine is just a drawing currently

yeah its just 6 and gates. basically 3 winning gates per player. the only annoying part is running the redstone. pretty sure jaysus has one built as well. id add him again to see it, but he griefed my game. lol.

Hahahahaha. Awesome. It sounds like we're building the same thing. Are you putting a repeater into each line before it hits the arrow dispenser line to stop back flow power? I think if you don't it could back flow power and fire off another RPS dispenser and it would just become a continuous chain.

To save space, I attached some together that both used a particular gate, with repeaters to prevent them interfering with each other. Also, if you had enough space then you could do 6 RS NOR latches with an external reset switch for a spectator.

I don't know anything about RS NOR latches but this version doesn't need a reset. It's pretty simple. Player A enters from 1 side and B from the other. Once both are in it activates a pressure plate that locks the other player in. Players choose RPS by pushing a button on 1 of 3 labeled dispenser. The dispenser then spits out stone paper or shears so the players can see what each other picked just before AND gates kick in and fire an arrow at the losing player. 2 arrows, player dies, and the door for he winner opens to let them out. Right now the buttons are in the dispensers which could allow for cheating. I'd like to move the buttons and add delay to the dispensers so its not as easy to cheat

without rs nor buttons have to be pushed at exact same time. rs nor makes it act like a 1 way lever that needs a reset. hook up dispeners to same redstone as arrows. just use reapeaters to delay the arrows so they get a chance to see what the other player picks. using levers requires no rs nor gates. using buttons they are needed as to not require exact timing by both players.
