Does this game actually seem easier than MHFU?

- Jan 29, 2013 3:16 am GMTI just made HR9 with a few friends in MHFU, and hooooo boy are we cursing the game.
In anticipation, I looked at some YouTube videos of Tri G, and G Rank monsters seem to move a little slower. I barely played Tri online, but I found Low Rank quests to be slightly easier than MHFU. Is this the case again with G Rank on 3U? If I'm having a lot of trouble with MHFU's G3 quests, will I end up in the same boat?
This won't effect my decision to get the game....buying it for both Wii and 3DS, but just curious.

This but there are about 5-6 G Rank quests that are on par with MHFU's G Rank. The rest are either on par with TRI's High Rank or a tad tougher.
Rare Lagi is a mutha to solo in MH3U!
Honestly, I was disappointed in MH3U's difficulty because, in my opinion, G Rank should take almost perfect runs to solo them. Outside of the 5-6 quests I mentioned being MHFU G Rank worthy, they don't take perfect runs to solo them.
It could just be me but I want G Rank where you almost have to have at least 2 hunters to complete. The difficulty I want would require you to be almost perfect to solo G Rank. MH3U is not quite there.
I can dream, can't I?

twitter.com/MhunterCHUMP youtube.com/mhunterchump - Jan 29, 2013 6:16 am GMTI hope you aren't implying that FU's G-rank was actually difficult or that it had "G-rank worthy" quests...because there were only a few. The "difficulty" you are searching for wasn't in Unite, either. Not even in the other games.
If you're searching that, you should play Frontier.

What do i have to do to set the language to English? because my game is in Japanese - joetendo69
3DS: 4983-5126-3707 - Jan 29, 2013 6:16 am GMTThere are quite a few hair-pulling quests. Well atleast for me. Dual arena hungry Jhos, download Guran Miraosu, and download Alatreon. Jhen Mohran sub is still a hit or miss for me.

No, I never said that. He asked if it was easier then MHFU and I replied saying certain quests are MHFU G Rank worthy but only a handful. I then went on to say HOW I WISH THE DIFFICULTY WERE.
No Monster Hunter game I've played has the difficulty I want (I've played them all but MHFO so I wouldn't know). That's why I said "I can dream, can't I?"

twitter.com/MhunterCHUMP youtube.com/mhunterchump - Jan 29, 2013 6:08 pm GMTLooking forward this topic, actually, there's some players I know and they say the fatigue feature from MHP3rd returns in 3U, and that make the fights with the monsters more easy, is that true? can someone confirm this to me?

3DS kino 4554 - 1003 - 6906 Monster Hunter 3G / New Super Mario Brothers 2 - Jan 29, 2013 8:29 pm GMTFatigued monsters will occasionally stop and make a drooling animation, and they are unable to use their strongest attacks. They also become more predictable. You can also trick then into eating poisoned/paralyzing/sleep meat to inflict them with a status effect for free
- Jan 29, 2013 11:06 pm GMTMan there's some expert hunters in here cause you guys make it sound real easy, starting to feel like a ***** ! Guess that I'll need to step my game up when Ultimate drops!
- Jan 30, 2013 12:01 am GMTif you wantdifficulty ,i'd recommend you not to upgrade your armour. There would be many moves dangerously close to OHKO to you.

If you can solo in G rank in freedom unite, you're already a great hunter. If you can't, then make it your goal and you'll improve :3 - Jan 30, 2013 4:24 am GMTI think that sequels are difficult to gauge accurately if you're an advanced player in a series. When the Tony Hawk games were popular, I felt that every addition seemed easier. The games seem easier because you already understand the strategy and know what to look for.
Monster Hunter is somewhat set up to get easier as you play. The more you play, you get better weapons and armor and you also begin to amass an inexhaustible amount of supplies. You're also gaining experience with the behaviors of each monster, so that when you add more life and raise the damage dealt by them in the higher ranks you are only increasing the length of the fight and punishing mistakes more. However, you can increase the difficulty by setting your own parameters. Using Low rank equipment. Bringing only one or two healing items. Mixing armor to eliminate special abilities. Go out with an empty inventory. Use a weapon that you not so great with. Fighting "naked."
Even with all these ideas, there is still the possibility that the game is still not "difficult enough" for a given player at which case there will probably never be a game to give you the challenge you desire within the series.

I guess that I can because I've never played any of the monster hunters on coop mode. Still not an expert. Definitively will take the game serious this March though. - Jan 31, 2013 6:04 am GMTQuote:Yes. Monsters in fatigue mode becomes easy targets. Free hits.
@klim28
Actually, fatigue mode was in Tri, and maybe that's why it seemed easier to me. If it returns, I can see this game being slightly easier.
Do G Rank monsters even have fatigue mode though?
---
Sent from my iPad via PowerGuides 1.10 - Jan 31, 2013 8:54 am GMTi wouldnt see why not. MHFU was a good challenge just because of the hitboxes. They were fixed in Tri and 3rd, so of course they were easier. The g rank monsters in 3U shouldnt be exempt from fatigue because theyre g rank. The only monsters that wont have fatigue mode are the elder dragons.

SnS does 200+ damage each hit and hits 10x faster than GS so it's better. Gawd. - Pirate_Sedition - Jan 31, 2013 11:21 am GMT80% of g rank monsters in mhfu 2hko
Roughly about 10-15% 1hko u .
Hardness imo
MHFO>MHFU> MH3U - Feb 1, 2013 1:09 pm GMTMHFU = cheap, unfair difficulty, since the hit boxes were way too big, the bosses did a metric crapton of damage if they hit, and despite all this they were utter failures in the AI department.
MH3P/U (haven't gotten 3U yet, but it should follow the same example) = well designed hit boxes, bosses who punish for failure but don't instantly kill you, AI that's a hell of a lot less predictable, and while fatigue makes them not so hard, it's still challenging at the top tiers
MH3U wins by default because it gives a lot more fair challenges than MHFU. I'd rather have the bosses be fair but difficult than have gigantic inaccurate hit boxes that require mere memorization to dodge because of no visual que and do 90% of your health if you get hit. - Feb 1, 2013 7:02 pm GMTthat narga tail slam, and lets not forget the almighty plessy hip-check. good times.
still the damage monsters do in mhfu and tri-G pale in comparison to the freedom/ mh-g.
the best defense was not to get hit.
