Mortal Kombat: Unchained User Review
If you own Deception on PS2, you don't need to buy this game. But if you want a good PSP fighter, this is a right choice

The best thing about this game is that all the characters are unlocked from the go. I really hate games that force you to beat "so and so" useless and uninteresting game modes to unlock fighters. As an example, in Mortal Kombat: Deception, I had to play through the long and boring konquest mode to get many of my favorite characters like Liu Kang, Tanya, etc., but here, I got them from the go. Although I own MK:Deception, I am glad that I bought MK: Unchained.
What does this game have?
1. Many great characters from the MK universe.
2. Two fatalities per characters
3. Three different fighting styles
4. Shao Kahn and Goro (not available in MK: Deception PS2 version)
5. Lots of stage fatalities
6. A painful but beatable last boss
7. Easy to master juggles and combos
8. Flashy finishing moves
What it doesn't have:
1. Kung Lao, Reptile, Kano, Sonya
2. The robots
3. Shang Tsung
4. An enjoyable konquest mode.
So if you like mortal kombat games and want to get one for your PSP, this is a good game. Go ahead and buy it. Too bad the newer games are not out for this platform.

Unchained is an excellent port of Deception, with a few extras, but the lack of online play brings it down a lot.

A good game but it forgot the meaning of "Mortal Kombat"

Despite the longer load times and the absence of online play, Unchained makes a great portable fighter nonetheless.
