"Very solid" =/= "very good"

Hinrich was a "very good" defender a few years back. And yes, in fact, he was All-Defensive 2nd Team. Now, as he's lost a step, he's merely on the better side of average. He's not going to lock someone down, but he can hold his own against the vast majority of PGs and SGs and is certainly not a liability.

Even in a topic mostly critical of Hinrich exclusively from Bulls fans, basically all of them who mention his defense say he's still pretty good at that end.

Go ahead and believe what you want to believe...I'll be here taking the quicker, faster, longer, taller, more athletic JRich any day over Hinrich

And I'll be here understanding that better athleticism doesn't necessarily make you a better defender. Hinrich is far smarter and Richardson has never shown good defensive skill or effort.
