But that's not really surprising for me since I ask them all the time, but how long can you use a MyPlayer character before he has to retire?
I know once you get into the HoF you can retire, but does the game force you to retire at any point?

you have 15 seasons to make the HoF which is usually plenty of time to complete your goals.

Thats kinda messed up. With only 15 seasons how are we able to reach Kareem's record. You would have to average around 2,600 points a season to reach that milestone. Kareem had to play 20 season to do it. I'm supposed to do it in 15?

I probably would. As I said, I'm awful at this game and I'd play as many seasons as I can, at least until I could get at least a magazine cover or billboard or something of that sort.
