Which Team In My Career Mode Are You On? I'm On The Rockets...

- Oct 30, 2012 6:22 pm GMTIf you're on the Rockets like I am, I have a few questions....
Am I the only person who notices how Kevin Martin does NOT like to pass the ball once he gets it, and how all he takes is 3 pointer after 3 pointer after layup after 3 pointer?
And how Jeremy Lin is really a freaking GREAT pointer guard.
I'm averaging 24 points per game, but to be honest, I'd be cool with only 15 or even 10, because I like watching Lin do what he does. He gets the ball to everybody, and I'd hate to guard the guy just by looking at the way he dribbles.
Now, my PROBLEM is that I'm only averaging 24 a game because it seems like after the 20th game of the season, everybody seems to rely on ME to do most of the heavy lifting now. I'm not saying this is yet another technical issue with the game, but this is the first time I've been on a team that doesn't seem to need me, AND I LIKE IT!! I raised the difficulty level, so I'll see what happens in the next few games...
So talk about which team you're on (if you're playing in this mode) and what the chemistry is like on your teams.... - Nov 1, 2012 3:12 pm GMTI'm an Athletic PG, got drafted to the Wizards. I started behind John Wall, then got moved over to the 2 spot to start over Bradley Beal. Wall doesn't like to pass it if he brings it upcourt, but I can usually pass him the ball and let him drive while I get open for the kickout. Defense collapses on him, and I'm there for the 3. I'm averaging 25 pts, 10 asts, 4 rebs and 3 steals after 25 games (pickpocket is great against guys who like to drive, as well as getting steals in the backcourt and on fast breaks)
Our 2 main big men, Nene and Emeka Okafor were out hurt for a while, but Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin picked up the slack pretty well. Both are beasts on the boards, Booker just bodies everybody down low, while Seraphin can knock down shots from anywhere within 15 feet. Trevor Ariza just kind of...takes up space, though he's a nice option for the mid-range jumper and is pretty solid on D. Our chemistry ATM is in the low 90's, largely because we're 22-3.
Eventually I'll bump up the difficulty, but it's just so nice to see Washington at the top of the East for the first time in forever.

One, I ain't rich and two, most of them tend to suck" -Dee-1 - Nov 7, 2012 3:17 pm GMTI'm on the golden state warriors and I've got close to play off time and we are the best team in the league based on win loss record, we're in the 40's for wins and about 19 losses. I'm a sf/sg starter and I'm the key scorer for the team sinking around 24+ points per game. I'm still new at the game so that's all I really contribute but my other team mates, lee, jack, holiday, and bogut are good inside the arc while I hit tons of threes. And I just love myteam.

- Nov 8, 2012 8:45 pm GMTI'm a SF/SG, for the celtics was picked up as the 23rd pick drafted at age 26 =)
My defense is terrible but I'm a good 3pt shot, I'm 9 games in so far, my team-grade keeps getting hammered down by allowing players to score on me, I've managed 10-20 point games on average with assists , rebounds etc being random I'm normally in it for 13 minutes per-game.
Despite me being a good bench player, my team really drops the ball in the 4th of nearly every game, we are currently 4-5. - Nov 12, 2012 9:36 pm GMTOkay...this is just a warning for anybody who have the unfortunate luck of playing alongside James Harden.....GET YOURSELF TRADED!!!!!!!
I swear that dude just sucks the air right out of the stadium!
My team made the real life trade of Harden for Martin per my request through the GM conversation (I thought it would have been a good idea having the guy. BOY, WAS I WRONG!!). This dude is LISTED as a good scorer, but he NEVER scores! What's worse is that he's LISTED as a shooting guard, but form some reason I just do NOT understand, he is ALWAYS given the ball over your REAL point guard.I mean, seriously, I can almost hear Lin crying every time up court.
Lin is one hell of a good point guard. This dude is absolutely unstoppable when he drives. I don't ever like calling for the ball when he has it because he ALWAYS makes things happen.
Harden on the other hand....sigh!
This fool....
He ALWAYS brings the ball up court, and he never...and I mean EVER passes....and then always ends up missing the shot he hogged the ball for. He has yet to have double digit game for us, and we've had him for about 8 to 10 games now. Martin, however, has had multiple 20 point games with the Thunder. We definitely got the short end of the stick with him. And unfortunately, the Rockets player ratings suck so bad that there's no freaking way to get another trade going, because no one in their right mind would trade for this band of misfits.
I'm averaging about 26 ppg, 6 apg, and 9 rpg. The vast majority of my games have been triple doubles, because Lin seems so distraught after the trade that his assist total went waaaaaay down, and we don't have a center that anybody would take seriously. - Nov 12, 2012 9:38 pm GMTChamillionLive posted...

This might have just been MY experience, but Okafor in the last game was so BOOTY it wasn't even funny. You say Ariza took up space...maaaaan, listen...Okafor flat out REFUSED to shoot the ball unless it was literally right up under the rim in the last game. I seriously hope they changed that, because I will NEVER play with that guy again. - Nov 13, 2012 8:08 pm GMTMerciless704 posted...

I'm playing with Harden on the Thunder and he is annoying. Pretty much every time he'll turbo down and try to drive to the bucket without passing to me ever. He does seem to get the ball even when I'm playing PG. Westbrook seems to pass more than Harden. I'm probably going to ask the GM to trade Harden, but for who? I'm thinking someone with Brick Wall signature. - Nov 16, 2012 9:18 am GMTgrunt3 posted...

Regardless of who you put in his place, thunder is OP. I was in this team for a few seasons in my rookie years and pretty much simmed my way through a few finals lol.
As a PG, I tend to trade for big guys (tall and heavy) who can muscle their way to the low block for the easy Assist and Dunk. I'd go with Deandre Jordan or Bizmack Biyombo. between you, westbrook, maynor and whoever else you pretty much have the guard positions covered.
As long as they are good defensively and relatively young, they will be good for your team. as you really do most of the offence, even as a passer.

Bobcats have a few great young talents, they suck really bad in the first 3 years, but once a lot of the superstars of the other teams fade to old age, they become pretty decent. currently have a dynasty with them, if you trade for young talent with great potential you can basically make a team similar to OKC. but im already close to retiring in the hall of fame and half the people in the league are computer generated ><

You might not wanna take my advice on this one, but you COULD try to get the GM to the real life trade of Harden for Martin on the Rockets. Even though Martin has his flaws, the dude shoots the lights out, similar to Jason Richardson does a few versions back. he makes his own shots, and he loves launching 3's.
Just a suggestion...but Harden hogs the ball, is rated as an offensive threat, but does NOTHING on offense for me. - Nov 23, 2012 2:45 am GMTMemphis Grizzlies, pick 25 round 1. So I sucked at the rookie game? It was my first time. I suck at basketball in real life so it doesn't surprise me that I suck at basketball in video games. But I'm starting to slowly get the hang of it. I increased my speed, leaping and agility and I'm doing better now because I was stupid and my guy is only 6'5" ... so when I make a dunk the talking dudes always comment about my leaping ability.
I'm playing the Bulls next. We lost to them last time so I hope we win this time. - Dec 13, 2012 10:27 am GMTI'm a SG, got drafted #2 by the Bobcats simply because I picked 3 pt Specialist as my package and then scored 30+ points in the rookie game because the AI is incredibly stupid and kept leaving me open to take 3s.
I was pretty happy where I was, could come off the bench behind Gordon and focus on just being a spark and hitting some shots. Extra benefit from the fact that Walker and Sessions are fairly decent PGs in the game and will pass.
After a while I got enough minutes to consistently score 20+ PPG off the bench along with a few rebounds and generally avoiding getting embarrassed defensively.
Problems started when I cracked the starting lineup. BG became 6th man but for some reason the coach insists on playing Matt Carroll and Henderson some 15+ minutes at SG between them. I tried talking to the GM and suggesting I liked playing with Gordon in the hopes that he would squeeze the scrubs out of the rotation, but instead I lost my starting job and those two are still getting rotation minutes
Now I seem stuck in a loop where Gordon and I alternate who starts every game -_- I can't figure out how to fix it outside of demanding a trade. - Dec 13, 2012 8:40 pm GMTI first made a 6'4, 185 3PT Specialist PG. I sucked at the Rookie Showcase and was drafted 23rd to the Celtics. I didn't feel comfortable bringing up the ball in this game because I sucked at defense, and my matchups run ridiculously fast. So I decided, ah, screw this.
Then I made a 6'5, 195 3PT Specialist SG. He got a B- Teammate Grade at the RS and was drafted 9th to the Pistons. Being SG is much easier to me in this game than in 2k12. All I have to do is to get myself open and wait for a kick-out pass for a wide open 3.
The team was actually pretty good. They play really smart, Monroe is a hardworker under the rim, and they have pretty good teamwork, either on offense or on defense. Although I may have to compete with Rodney Stuckey for the starting SG position, I won't mind if they would convert me into an SF, as long as I can do my thing (w/c is 3pt shots). That was fun to play 4 games in.
Until I lost that file when I lost that flash drive containing that. SO I have to do this all over again.
Which is why I have a question for you guys.
Should I create the SG again (with the possibility of not getting drafted by the Pistons again) or should I create a new one (prolly a PF or C since I want to practice on rebounds and blocks)? - Dec 13, 2012 9:31 pm GMTI was drafted by the Cavs. 6'4" all-around Sg. Avg: 18.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.8 apg, 1.2 spg 46.7 fg, 34.5 3pt. 10 min quarters on Superstar/Simulation. I asked for a few trades after we went 6-13 to start the season. The Cavs made some great moves. Traded Andy V straight up for Javale McGee, and then traded cj miles and the 2013 1st for Wilson Chandler. We have gone 10 and 3 since the trades and are sitting 7th in the east. Excited about the future. A great young team. Dion waiters has been great as a 6th man getting about 16 minutes a game.

I would go with the SG. For some reason finding open shots is pretty easy in this game, but they really messed up boxing out and rebounding. I always play a C but had huge issues rebounding properly in 2K13 compared to other games :/ - Dec 14, 2012 7:13 am GMTFinally decided to remake my SG. Got a B Teammate Grade this time in the Rookie Showcase, and was drafted 7th by the Warriors. At first, I thought this is going to suck, considering that the team has too many guards.
So I sticked it up, and I realized l actually liked the Warriors. Their play revolves around passing around the ball, Lee and Bogut are awesome under the rim, Jenkins enters the Zone a lot, and I'm starting to like to dish out dimes to Klay Thompson, or in fact, pretty much anyone in the team.
Offense, I really have nothing to say more about the Warriors, but Defense is something we have to work for. I would rather not request or demand for a trade, but I want to know what do you guys think about this. - Dec 16, 2012 7:10 am GMTOrland Magic- Power Forward/ Center
- Dec 19, 2012 3:36 pm GMTI got drafted by the Bucks. The team is pretty good actually, Monta Ellis and Jennings actually contribute, are shooting high percentages and passing the ball. Ellis is the leading scorer in the league and Jennings is the leading assist man in the league lol. Only downfall is that the Bucks lack big men that can rebound well but i've noticed that the whole team tries to go and get the rebound so it works out.
