- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Highly addictive"
Story:
-Interesting
-Standard fantasy fare with fresh concepts
-Makes great use of the Dungeons and Dragons Sword Coast
-Linear
-Allows for MANY role playing opportunities
-You're curious to know what happens
-Immersive world
-Different number of classes and role-playing opportunities leaves you with a lot of replayability
-Great amount of side quests
-Player-created and premium modules plus online servers give the player more reason to keep on going back for more
Characters:
-Interesting in their varying personality types
-Nicely balanced team- personalities and classes
-Nice side stories
-Not very much character development
-Not as many role playing opportunities as one would hope
-No companion-companion character interaction
Game play:
-VERY smooth
-Spell-casting and special ability utilization a breeze
-No micromanagement of companion, only general commands issued by voice buttons of character
-Cannot take control of companion's inventory
-Inventory can become cluttered easily if you don't organize well
Visuals:
-In general, looks decent when put to today's standards
-Special effects fantastic, (for 2002), but still look decent
-No lagging frame rates
-Good variety of character/monster/creature meshes
-Great varying textures and geography
