New Super Mario Brothers Wii is a total throw back to the Mario of old and by that I mean the SNES days. Like its predecessors this game is side scrolling and includes all the basic platforming that you would expect from a Mario game. The graphics are solid with vibrant colors, although not quite as good as Mario Galaxy, and the level designs are excellent throwing in some old tricks with a lot of new ones. Speaking of new tricks they have even added some new power ups like the penguin suit and the propeller suit, which are very useful and fun. Overall the difficulty feels just right, for a veteran Mario player, although some of the later levels could be a little too much for casual or new players. This game also allows for cooperative play with up to four players, while this can be fun it can also be frustrating if your partner isn't as skilled as you. Another problem are the motion controls which can sometimes cause you to accidentally spin jump when you weren't even trying to.

All in all this is a great game that is just plain fun. If you are a fan of the old Mario games or you just want something simple and fun then I highly recommend this game for you.
