New Super Mario Bros Wii is like any great 2-D platformer, but perfects it in every aspect.

In the game New Super Mario Bros Wii, you play as Mario and friends. Princess Peach is kidnapped (again) and you have to set out on your quest to find her. However this time all the koopa kids including Bowser Jr,. are on the plan to get Princess Peach to Bowser.
There are some new and old gameplay features. This game introduces simultaneous, four player co-op. The characters to play as are Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad. There are some new and old powerups. The new ones are the propeller mushroom, the ice flower, and penguin suit. The old ones are the mine mushroom, fire flower, and starman. Also a new feature is in some levels you can ride Yoshi. Not only that, all the players can ride Yoshi! The game is packed with a ton of fun levels, and it is even more enjoyable with a friend. World 9 is extremely challenging, and having friends add to an overall good experience. Despite not having online co-op, the simultaneous makes it even better. Online does not make a game's co-op more enjoyable, it just makes it easier to connect with others. Just having simultaneous on one screen is enjoyable enough.
This game is very similar to Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros (for DS). This game is another installment of the 2-D platforming fun. Instead of DS, it is on the Wii. New Super Mario Bros Wii is similar to Super Mario World because it has ghost houses, Yoshi, powerups relating to flight, and more. This is a good thing because Super Mario World is an excellent platformer to this day. In fact, New Super Mario Bros Wii is arguably the best 2-D platformer ever. If a level gets to hard and you die enough times, there will be a Super Guide and it shows how to complete the level. Plus if you have friends over, one person can be the one who does the main platforming. The others can hide in the bubble and be used for emergencies. If the game is too easy, then World 9 is clearly no pushover.

My 1st impressions after beating NSMB Wii. Aside from Co-op, nothing is really special about this standard Mario game.
