You can buy a 20 gig hard drive for your PC for like 20 bucks, i didn't wanna buy the 20 gig for my 360, but the a 360 without a hard drive is terrible.

A larger HDD would be better, but unfortunately this doesn't look to be the case...yet. (my hopeful thinking)

They would have to drop the price on the 20gb hd for it to be affordable. My 360 came with the hd, but I haven't downloaded a lot of stuff like most of the XBL population. Oblivion is an exception. And PGR3. And Burnout Revenge. Okay, so I have been downloading lots of stuff after all! Anyways, if MS does indeed come out with that 100gb hd, I'd be surprised if it's not within the $99.99 - $129.99 price point. Even though I still have a good amount of space on my hd, I'd want the new one in hopes of it shortening loading times on Oblivion and my KotOR games.

this is silly anyway. they only reason people are out of space is because they hold on to demos way after they are done playing them. but i guess if you want to pay for it thats your deal.

I don't think it will be that much more expenive because the 20gb model is overpriced even for the type of harddrive it is. The 100gb might even just replace the 20gb and sell for $100. -Probably not but anyway.

$100 for 20 gigs is a joke. PS2's HDD was 40gigs for $100 and an average portable 2.0 100gig HDD is $100. But rest assured it will not be as much as your all expecting. Just look at their Memory Units. 64MB for $40, yet the 256MB MU is $60... Microsoft needs to seriously re-evaluate their pricing for accessories...its ridiculous. Take it easy.

HA! Microsoft's plan from the start. Release a half-ass system so you have to pay a sh*t load of money to make it reasonable and bring it up to par. After all your money spent on making your 360 good enough it'll cost a hella of a lot more than PS3. Suckas!

What's up with "umbrae"'s crazy aspects of how big stuff is? Demos are rarely over 1 GB, save files are a couple of MB's (Oblivion saves are like 1 MB, PDZ saves are like 100 KB), trailers are between 50 and 300 MB (720p). I don't NEED a 100 GB, 20 GB is enough, but I wouldn't mind not having to delete content... I also have around 800 songs, and each song is 3-4 MB's.

It is very easy to fill a 20 gig drive. Most game demos are 2-3 gig. Not to mention save games and backward compatibility patches. I will mine every week. Can't wait for a larger one...

how is it possible to fill a 100GB hard drive on a video game system? i would rather have the 20GB because it is less expensive. i know you can download movies and stuff, but i have a 1GB memory card on my PSP and i have tons of videos/music/pictures/demos and i still have tons of space

I'd like to see a new premium package that includes an internal HD DVD player, HDMI, and a larger hard drive. Given that, I'd probably pick up a 360.

With less than 10.5 GB left on my 360 HDD, it would be great to buy a larger drive. The 20GB drive was a mistake to begin with.

The 20gb will actually be packed in with the core. Basically making what was now called the premium into the core system. 100gb drive and hdmi equiped 360 will be out xmas 07. 2 years after the launch of the original 360. It falls into place with every other console made. Roughly 2+ years after it has been on the market, the mfg does something to the hardware to make it fresh and appealing to gamers who have not already gotten one. I'd like for them to just say they are making the 360 with hd dvd drive. But then again they can also make it with blueray if the blueray format takes off.

Why woulden't you just go buy the SATA adaptor thats already for sale for $50 it fits between the console and the harddrive and you connect it to your pc and use your pc's extra space?

I think it is great that 100GB HD is coming out, good for the gamers but, how much do we have to pay? I'm not here to compare the price of 360 to PS3 but I really hate when they do that, all kinda add-on device, camara, HD, HD-DVD HD, we've already spend lots money on system, games, and M$ points. I just don't think I'll spend another $150-200 to buy it. One other thing is has anyone try to connect your ipod and load the music to your 360? I tried it once but I can't then I found out because we can not download the protected muic, however most music ARE protected(I use I tune) if I want to listen to them on my 360 I have to copy them to the CD then play it so what's the point if we can't use it?

We all know the 100GB hard drive is gonna cost more than the 20 GB but it will sold at a lower price in time. It's like the 2 gig memory for the PSP. It used to cost more than the 360's own hard drive but with time it was lowered all thanks to the 4 gig version. Don't think too much on this guys, just be smart and delete what u don't need like demos and what not...after all this is a "gaming machine" not a computer. -----------------------------------------PS- Those who are scared of how they'll be able to transfer their stuff to the new hard drive.....just re-attach your old hard drive when u need to and vice versa, problem solved.

I at first tought that 20gb was too small for all the features they announced. And it's true! I gotta keep deleting some demos in order to make room for new ones, I think I have 1gb left right now.

Gamespot are a bit slow. It's a fake pic of both the 256MB card and 100GB HDD. Certainly Microsoft may have a HDD in the works but this isn't it. Visit http://www.xboxic.com/news/1830 Would Microsoft use a slide show in Korea to announce a new 100GB HDD? Not likely. Also the pic is obviously photoshopped. The 256MB card actually says 64MB on the bottom and the 256 isn't even in the right perspective.

I, for one, am not bothered by the release of this or any accessory that MS decides to come out with. Why? Because Microsoft has given me a CHOICE on whether or not this upgrade is neccessary for ME to have. As for the 20GB that came with my system, it's plenty because once I'm done with a demo or trailer, I delete it and music gets streamed from my PC. As for the PS3's 60GB HDD, think about it. If they do demos or gamer content, at 1080p the 60GB might as well be a 20GB since 1080p content takes up exponentially more space than 720p/1080i content. I just read an article about "Lair" for the PS3 and each level takes up 4GB on the disc! I still have 13GB free on the 20GB drive so I most likely won't be interested by the 100GB drive when it hits selves. Thanks MS for giving me choices!

To all that asked: What about my premium purchases. All you have to do is go to the Marketplace, then to your Download history, and redownload everything you purchased. Microsoft made it so that if anything happened to your content (i.e.you accidentally delete it) you could redownload it even if you paid for it. No problem.
