I stopped watching after 10 minutes the first year because it SUUUUCKS.

from the five minutes i watched it seem to consist of a bunch of smug presenters firing volly after volly of terrible jokes and puns. first time watching and won't be again.

I stopped caring about the vga's when they had the the award for "Best independent game fueled by mountain dew".

Maybe they should cut out some of the adds and make it an hour and a half? then id watch it.

Elder Scrolls V is what I'm happy about!

That's because everything but the actual video game footage was cringe-worthy to watch. They should quit with the "award show theater" feel and just have a really good show with developer interviews, videos and maybe some championship SF4 contests or something. No music. No stupid jokes. Just VG.

What does the VGA's have to do with games? It's all about licensed products whether they sold well or bombed! There are no PC genre coverage.and yet there's four music type awards! Finally we get guests that have nothing to do with gaming other than the fact hey play games (so we're told!) What I would suggest is for award givers being people like Sid Meier and Todd Howard with little vignettes about their history (not just the last 5 years, but the last 20!). Hopefully doing it this way would make the VGA's a true gamers show and makes the gamers watching really feel they're part of a "club" - which is needed is video gaming is not going to continue to decline.

The guy that hosted sucked so hard and so did everybody else telling lame jokes. I literally cringed every time someone step on wondering what bad joke was coming next.

I only care about Mass Effect 3 ,and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim .

It was aight. 2004 was the best!

Of course they decline, they still VGA, they should move to super VGA right now.

The show could've been MUCH better and I can't help but feel if G4 was behind it, it would be better. Spike just tries too hard to turn it into something "cool" and hip with the non-gaming celebs and bands. I was really cringing watching the celebritys jokes fall flat lol. Honestly I would much rather have somebody like Adam Sessler as the host as opposed to Neil Patrick Harris. And why not have behind the scenes featurettes of "the making of" certain characters or games before the reveal the awards? Also any suprise Niel Patrick won "Best Performance by a Human Male" for Spiderman Shattered Dimension even though there were definately much better and well known games with great voice acting (not to say the game or voice acting was bad by anymeans)?

i actually liked the VGA's last year i dont know what happened it was just so live last year this year it was dry.

I watched the vga's for one reason. To see bioware announcement.

The only good thing about the VGAs is the new game reveals, if that wasn't there, no would care at all. The awards just blow.

Only good part was ME3 trailer.

The VGA awards almost put me to sleep that night.It was a very boring show to watch.The only interesting part of that show.Was watching the new announcement trailers for upcoming Videos games.Everything else about the show was garbage.

I recorded it too... only part I cared about was ESV :D

And I hated all the trailers shown, I want to see actual gameplay not some fancy cgi sequence.

The VGA is terrible. The show itself is full of people who know nothing about games, it's a mockery tbh.

Who cares about what games they think are the best, what's that going to do for you. You're better off watching a movie or finishing a quest or two in some RPG. The only game related show I watch is E3 because it unveils what I should get excited about in the coming year.

Just watched the latest Angry Joe show and that Geoff guy who runs the place is a real deuce bag. Joe asked him why there wasn't an MMO category for games like the new Final Fantasy MMO and Geoff claimed that it didn't even come out this year. What?!

stopped watching as soon as I realized that I could watch the announcement trailers a few minutes after the show online, without all of the garbage filler "entertainment".

The VGA's are mostly just crude humor, a few hot women (Olivia Munn) put on stage to attract viewers, completely unwanted and irrelevant musical performances by trendy bands, and some game reveals. Let's be honest. The only real reason to view it is for the game reveals. The rest is just filler and pointless.

The awards are pure ludicrous and all in all you get 4-5 game announcement trailers that show the minimum (if any) gameplay footage, which you can watch on your theatre if choice 10 minutes after the show.

what do you expect would happen when you have a chicken on stage and NOT launch it at the painted pigs??? ....pure garbage...:?

Good, the fewer people exposed to that garbage the better. SMG2 not even nominated for GotY? lol

I watched the show for the first time this year and I'll never make that mistake again! Enjoyed the reveals...but what a terrible show. Looked like it had a budget about the same as a happy meal and it was about as enjoyable. I agree with the comments that it made me embarrassed to be a gamer because it was done so poorly. That was two hours of gaming time that I want back!

Why the hell does this stuff keep coming up as a Forza 4 update?

because this show sucks. GameInformer, GamePro, whatever iteration of EGM still exists, IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers, Giantbomb and a few others should strongly consider some form of a unified Awards show....though that would be a nightmare.

More proof that Spikes VGA Show caters down to the lowest common denominator in the gaming populace. Despite the reveals there was nothing redeeming about this show. I felt like I had gotten dumber for watching it for about 20mins.

Also Neil Patrick Harris was great as usual.

Well if they kept some things secret maybe more people would have watched. We all knew about the "surprise" announcements beforehand anyway. MCR performance was really good though.

i wish people cared about games as much as movies...then the VGAs would be alright. Some awesome new trailers though

I suppose they could've advertised a bit more but it really wasn't that bad this year.

I wanted to watch it, but I decided not to in the end. Guess I didn't miss much to being with.

@SiKh22 its not really a horrible number, I mean the target audience is video gamers, and while yes there are a lot of them, a lot of them may not have known it was coming on to watch it. take me for example. I'm a 20 year old college student who was simply too busy at the time to watch them. I know that my entire campus, who are pretty much all video game fans, were probably in the same situation. we have finals this week so some of them were studying, about 80% of them were partying/drinking. if you include all college kids that are video gamers then your losing a large base of your viewers. then you have to think of the many people that don't watch spike tv very much. I know alot of people that watch it for UFC and Manswers, but they don't care about the VGA, so thats another lose in numbers, because their fanbase are the only people really watching the commercials for the VGA. there's a lot of other things to consider but I don't really care. I watched everything online the next day.

It honestly wasn't that great..thats just my opinion.
