my brother just bought a 3000 and i want one but i think im going to wait for a psp 4000. The 3DS looks awesome!!!!
Japanese game retailer lists 2010 release dates for Nintendo's new handheld and a yet-to-be-announced PSP iteration.
Source: Japanese gaming news site Andria Sang.
What we heard: In April this year , rumours surfaced that Nintendo was gearing up to launch its upcoming 3D-capable handheld by October this year, a move that would allow it to get a two-month jump on the holiday shopping season. However, the publisher remained vague about the 3DS' release date during this year's E3, stating only that it would arrive sometime before the end of its fiscal year in March 2011.
Now, it seems the initial rumours might be true. In its latest financial report, Japanese game and movie retailer Geo Corp. reportedly lists the Nintendo 3DS as due to go on sale in Japan before the end of 2010.
The report also lists a product named the "PSP-4000" due for release by the year's end. While speculation about a new PSP handheld has surfaced in the past, Sony has made no official announcements or mention of it to date.
The official story: A representative from Sony Computer Entertainment Australia told GameSpot that the company "does not comment on rumour or speculation."
A representative from Nintendo Australia reiterated the publisher's initial announcement regarding the release date for the 3DS, telling GameSpot: "[The] Nintendo 3DS is planned to launch in Financial Year 2011. Exact date TBC."
Bogus or not bogus?: Too early to tell. The original source does make mention of the fact that the Geo Corp. report makes errors concerning other releases. Gran Turismo 5, for example, was listed for a September release instead of November, while Pokemon Black & White is listed for October instead of September.
here's what i think Ubisoft said they would have around 5 games at 3ds's launch. the makers of assasians creed said they are not making any new AC games in 2011 and the last two nintendo systems (wii and ds) both came out in the 4th week of Nov. I believe that the Nintendo 3DS will come out in the 4th week of Nov in the US and the new assassins creed for it will be a launch title (that and the other new AC games are coming out for other systems around the same date). Nintendo would be crazy to miss the holiday season.
@bobo123394 That's not what we meant. We meant that there was too little time between iterations of different hardware, regardless of what the hardware is.
Sorry for repost but on the second analog issue, I think that the PSP has great titles that are unconvential, i dont want to the PSP turn into an FPS mongrel. With the addition of a second analog stick... I'm not saying that its a bad thing im just saying if they do implement I hope the unconventional titles, Ex: Patapon, Stay.
@Raykuza and TrapMuzik92 The 3DS is new technology they have probably been working on for a long time, while the GBA Micro and DSi XL are just new forms of the same thing? See the difference. Anyways it wouldn't have won Best new hardware, against PS3 and Xbox motion tech, for nothing.
@TrapMuzik92 Nintendo always does this crap. The GBA micro was released just months before the original DS.
How many PSP's and Ninendo Dsi's do they need? I could have sworn the nintendo DSi XL wasnt released too long ago
@fighterguard I have a few reasons... 1) I live in fiji so psps(3000) are like $250 american? over here its about $550 fjd and I dont have that kind of money the pspgo costs $800 hereo_O 2) Dont have a master card....neither do my parents the chargers here are RIDECULOUS>:( 3) Hence I cant buy games off the net:( I KNOW, I KNOW FIJI SUCKS!!! p.s...The 8y.o BRAT next door has a pspgo!!!
Resident evil revelations 3ds : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr3bvrvJYyo
@ NEWJERSEY-DEVIL Man u havent even seen the 3ds graphics yet. In fact there`s a trailer of a new resident evil called revlations for the 3ds that has pretty amazing graphics 4 a handheld
PSP 4000? What will they remove this time? The memory stick slot? They can't be adding another analog stick. That would make too much sense.
@Aentikraist - they're not going to add a second analog stick so I'd stop asking about it because it's never gonna happen. If they added a second analog stick they'd have to make a whole new psp system with new games because it's not like the PS3 where they can add an update to the games individually. So I'd suggest to quit getting your hopes up about something that won't be added...If you want 2 analog sticks go play a PS2 or PS3
i wish the psp 4000 has more hardware not talking about the mic which was not bad but mm not the thing i was lookin on a handheld GAMING console but anyways i just hope the 2nd analog and more cool games like the ones this year are appearing but plz forget the psp go daaaaaamn such poor attempt to compare the psphone forget abouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it!!!!!!!!!!!!plz
im wondering will the psp 4000 be a psp go upgrade or a psp 3000 upgrade....cause i rather have the umd sorry sony but the psp go was your pointless attept to the iphone game store.....stick to umds
3DS not even on it's best day could live up to the psp,Now if your into kiddy games with super nes grahpics in 3D wow then your in for a treat ,But i'm a little pass the days of their side scrolling short games,So i say to Nintendo Step your system up it's gonna take more than what your selling to make me even look at one of those hand held baby sitters....
"Coolyfett Posted Jul 3, 2010 6:03 am GMT I am cool with a PSP playing blu ray movies, but they need to be downloadable.....They dont need to put the movies on a UMD, just make them all downloadable." Downloadable content (on PSP and DS style consoles) will (in my opinion) destroy the gaming industry by taking away independent wholesaler and sending the money straight to the video game company's and developers making people redundant.
BTW a single layer Blue-Ray Disc holds 25GB (Dual Layer is 50GB) so how the hell do you think sony will be able to fit that on to a smaller condensed disc o.o
I am cool with a PSP playing blu ray movies, but they need to be downloadable.....They dont need to put the movies on a UMD, just make them all downloadable.
This article is still up???? Most be some sort of truth to this PSP 4000 thing. I really hope that Sony does all the right things and NOT do 3D
Sony needs to step it up with new PSP 4000 because, the 3DS is going to sell like crazy if the 3d technology amazes gamers. If sony fails, you know microsoft is waiting in the wings, to take a crack at the hand held gaming. The new psp need to impress not only the loyal psp owners but new ones as well. Just give me a mini ps3 portable device and I'll be happy. A psp that can played blu ray movies and able to download hd games.
I'm not sure if this has been posted before but this says if there's a PSP2 it won't have 3D. http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/705814/Sony-Has-No-Plans-To-Include-3D-In-PSP2.html
@trogeton Yeah, I take it back about the 5 remakes Sony did to the PSP...i'm just going to say there are 4 versions now because of that flop called the go...we should just act like that never happened :D oh and how many times have they remade the wii, or even offered different skus? they haven't. compare that to the other consoles out right now.
mmm get it or not get it thats the dilemma mm.. well i guess ill have to wait until psp 4000 and see what it has i was actually thinking about getting the 3000 but now seems like a bit wiser moment to wait up a bit to see what the new model offers me :9
With the 3DS coming out soon, the PSP needs to live up to it's own slogan: "Step your game up", or else the 3DS will dominate. o.o Can't wait for the 3DS, though. :D
3DS sounds awesome. PSP4000 better have glasses-free 3D or Sony is gonna be in trouble. I wonder which is a bigger mistake... DSxl or PSPGo?
Nintendo remade both of them? I think you missed a few Nintendo handhelds there. Also, what's wrong with a handheld being all about games, ever thought of the fact that a lot of people have phones/ipads/laptops for all the non-game features the PSP has?
@alkaline_DnB yeah hater LOL yeah sony only remade and their only hand held console.. nintendo remade Both of them several times..at leas with sony they make them better the 2nd psp loaded faster and was slim and lighter.. and the 3rd had improved color and screen quality nintendo didn't do anything like that.. they just added stuff that the psp pretty much already had the only thing ds has really is games.. but more adults buy psp because of it features that were BUILT in from the get go, the ds was made for the younger gen so they only had to worry about games cuz kids would not worry about other features
@KillerWabbit23 that was not a try and yeah you named some of them.. but you missed that ds that came out right shortly after the ds lite the one that has bigger screens..the one that came out before the dsi, but the who cares.. I was right.. yeah without the hand helds RIGHT NOW.. yeah nintendo would have almost no real reason to exsist the past does not matter now especially when and you also missed how many times they remade the gba .. gba, gbasp, micro, yeah nintendo is king for just redesigning.. they really should just focus on new games and not remaking consoles.. ANYONE could do that, but not all of them feel they need to
PSP 4000 in 2010? That's not enough time for Sony to copy the 3D technology from Nintendo. They need more time people.
If sony was going to release psp4000 this year I think they would have brought it up at E3. Look at all the steam the 3ds is getting. Unless of course it's another lame version of the current psp.
PSP 4000?? If they do that I hope they have blu ray UMD with PS3 graphics. I have the PSP 1000 and to me that is still a really good system. It still works and I still use it. Interesting to see where they go with this.
I expect 3ds to be released in Japan in 2010. but may be it will be released worldwide in different date. maybe
There have been so many PSP versions out there i've lost track. Re-designs in all glory, at the end of the day it's stll about what software the hardware has to offer you. I fully expect both companies to want to hog most of the christmas sales, especially Nintendo with the all new easy to market "3D handheld".
