Only going to say one thing about this. Keeping a subscription to play games offered in this bundle is a complete waste of money. I'll stick with my PC.

Sony bringing $300 "Instant Game Collection Bundle" to North America January 27; includes one-year PS Plus subscription.
Sony will launch a new 500GB white PlayStation 3 model in North America next week, the company announced today. Its arrival will mark the first time the PS3 system has been made available to consumers in the United States and Canada in any color other than black.
Officially titled the "Classic White PS3 Instant Game Collection Bundle," the $300 pack includes a slim system, a matching white controller, and a one-year subscription to PlayStation Plus. A one-year pass to Sony's premium service separately sells for $50.
A PlayStation Plus subscription includes access to Sony's Instant Game Collection, which features a regularly rotated library of 12 free PS3 titles. These include Little Big Planet 2, Infamous 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and others. Players must keep an active subscription to play the games.

i do miss the original phat PS3s but I Love the white color on this console. I just picked one up for my bro and he is sooooo excited for this (he's giving me his kitten and he's getting a brand new PS3 lmao)
1 Like Sony is really a piece of shit, they don't to sell their hardware cheaper. Who remembers the good old days when the PS2 was sold at $199 in 2003? Six years with the PS3 and it's still sold at $250 and higher. No wonder their credit rating is junk, Sony continues to treat their customers like shit, and no one likes playstation plus anyway, or the games their offering.
I wish they re-release the white Fat model, looks way better than this rip-off I am telling ya.
Lets see I am loving the comments on why? Why would they do that? Why now? Why? Why? Why? The answer.....Why not? It will not cost them any more to manufacture and there are people out there that will buy it....kind of like the IPhone freaks...I hate to compare that group of people with anyone but you know....If they can get a few more thousand units sold it is worth the time to launch it. I personally will not be buying it but I would for sure if I did not own one already....but there are people that always play the games that are a generation behind as well.....call them the "swifty cost" gamer....can't or won't pay the high cost for gaming....I know you all know at least 1 "swifty cost" gamer...hell I know a couple...lol....I will buy the PS4 in due time....may not get this one on launch but shortly after. See how work goes and when they are launching it....
@Killer6b9 it would be slightly dearer than black models as black is always the cheapest colour of material to buy, but it'd make very little difference
they find a way to include PSN games for which you have to pay for a Playstation + account. wow. call it marketing, I call it crap. I don't care for the games included, I just want a white ps3 thank you. I MIGHT get it, depending when it comes out, if I have the money for it, and when the PS4 will actually launch. Would look good in my new condo! I'm such a single guy....
I don't know where you live...but portable stoves don't really look like that here. Unless you're the fancy kind that has a hitech portable stove that is...

Finally Sony releases another color in NSTC region. Japan and Europe have gotten the different color Playstation 3. I would have bought this white superslim PS3 but I already bought a regular PS3 Superslim 250GB.

trying to squeeze the last of the life of the PS3 i see before it dies out in the run up to the next console generation at the end of this year, is basically all this is.
@Soleride Keep in mind that it's a good chance for someone to get a pretty nice blu-ray player as well as a media centre for their living room. Will it be the at the forefront of gaming? no, but it's still going to have its uses. And if the PS4 isn't going to be backwards compatible there will still be a market for cheap PS3s.

2 Like Who are these hard-core PS3 players that need this much storage on an obsolete machine with a new one about a year away? Come to think about it - I don't recall any PS3 game being all that great to even buy an upgraded system.
My original PS3 does just fine as a doorstop - I doubt a new one could hold a door as good.

@sunyatanada76 Why do people complain when they get more options? Before there were complaints in web comments about only Japan getting the white one.
2 Like Most systems would be under $300 by now 6 years later in life. But no Sony just keeps having to bundle more and more stuff with the system to keep the price high. Though 500GB is nice, I still think the 'super slim' models look like ass. It looks very cheaply made.
Has anyone posted comments on IGN? I did the same comments as a test and they always get deleted.
@steelmouth they have to take longer with the ps4 because of making its specs, its not like ps3 where all the specs were made ages ago and i'd say they're making all the new ps3s to get rid of the parts to make way for the ps4

Wow that is a good deal. 500 gig hard drive and not hating the white at all. Good to note Sony's keeping things tight here in the waning days of the PS3.

That's a good deal. Wonder why they didn't slip in a physical copy of some title, too, though. People need to transition to these digital-only collections.
Still a good deal either way.
