PC Prey demo debuting on GameSpot

PC Gamers will be able to sample 2K Games' gravity-defying first-person shooter via a world premiere 9 p.m. PDT Wednesday, June 21.

Ever since it was brought back from the grave, Prey has been one of the most anticipated first-person shooters for the Xbox 360 and the PC. The console demo is slated to go up this Wednesday, June 21, on Xbox Live at 9 p.m. PDT (Thursday at midnight EDT/4 a.m. GMT/5 a.m. UK). According to codeveloper 3D Realms and publisher 2K Games, it will be a five-level demo that will show off both single-player and multiplayer modes of the game.

If you prefer to play Prey on the PC, then you're also in luck. The PC demo for the game is also currently slated to have its world premiere right here on GameSpot. The demo will also go online at 9 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, and it can be downloaded from a special page on GameSpot Downloads. Weighing in at around 500MB, the PC demo also sports single- and multiplayer modes, including deathmatch, and it will let players sample roughly one hour of total gameplay.

    I don't think that Prey uses the Doom 3 engine, mrhankeydinks, though it does look similar.

    Cant wait...just hope my computer can run it properly...by the time the games comes out I will have a new graphic card...so it doesnt really matter...

    games with demos bad? I'm not sure what to say about this game. Considering i haven't like any games except for Q4 that used the Doom 3 engine. So i'll give the demo a spin.

    I hope this game turns out good. Most games that have a demo come out bad. Also, does anyone know if you can jump in this game. I do not remember seeing that. Be sweet if you could and do mid air flips. Imagine the deathmatches with that trick and surprising the person above/below you.

    OK.....what the hell.....another FPS to join the crew and wat again to shoot some aliens with some beefed up guns that look as weird as something really weird.......come on....lets go play something else......UHHHH....wait a second ......did i see Prey and the word Demo at the top of this page....HMMMM.......I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!>>>cant wait!!!!     MAN! my xbox 360 broke so i wont be able to play the demo on it until 6 days after it comes out. Hopefully my pc will run the demo well.

    I'll wait for a day and download it from fileplanet.I really don't feel like waiting two or three days for the file to download on gamespot rate limited severs.

    I'm really glad there is going to be a 360 demo released, since as someone up there said, the download speeds will suck. Well for us free users anyway.
