Family Guy game gets original voices

Seth MacFarlane, Adam West, Seth Green, rest of TV show cast to reprise their roles for series' gaming debut.

As part of its commitment to make "freakin' sweet" games based on the resurgent animated series Family Guy, 2K Games today announced the voice cast of the cel-shaded adventure game. Fortunately for fans of the controversial TV show, they're pretty much the same actors which play the dysfunctional New England clan on the show.

As he does on television, series creator Seth MacFarlane will provide voices for the portly patriarch Peter Griffin, his megalomaniacal son Stewie, and Brian, the family dog. While that covers the game's three playable characters, the rest of the Family Guy cast will fill out the game's supporting cast. Adam West will portray himself as the insane mayor of Quahog, Seth Green plays Chris Griffin, Mila Kunis is Meg Griffin, and Alex Borstein once again provides a voice for Lois Griffin.

Family Guy is expected to ship later this year for current-generation consoles. It is currently under development at High Voltage Games. No stranger to crude and tasteless humor, High Voltage developed Vivendi's most recent Leisure Suit Larry effort, the collegiate adventure Magna Cum Laude.

I'm not gonna hold my breath either, but the videos I've seen on the game make it look like it will do the show justice. All I really care about is how loyal the game will be to the series, which is arguably the funniest cartoon EVER created (sorry Simpsons, you've lost the crown). It's gonna be like we're playing out an episode from the show at home! How "FREAKIN' SWEET" is that? All I gotta say about that is "OLL' RIGHT!!!"

I'm not holding my breath on this one. It just seems to me that games ported from movies or TV shows lack in substance. I'm personally hoping that I'm wrong this time around.

I got Simpsons Hit and Run for the GC and I loved it. And august_king, Futurama never came out in North America, but it's a shame the show died.

It will suck, but I'll still buy it, I've loved Family Guy since it first aired after the '99 super bowl.... unlike many of the bandwagon jumpers.

Yeah I freakin' love Family Guy, but the idea of doesn't sit well with me. I really hope it is great, but I have a feeling it's going to suck. Unless it's designed by Peter's cousin, Shigeru Miyamoto Griffin.

The last time I laughed at an episode of The Simpsons was in 1998.

Family Guy can only bow down to The Simpsons. Yes the series is in it's golden years and the humor is less than stellar but for a good ten years they were the funniest thing on TV. Family Guy's humor is contrived and feels tacked on at the last minute. FYI more than a few of the show's first episodes were scraped ideas for Simpsons plots. Don't get me wrong it is sort of funny at times but it can't match the wit and character of say a season five Simpsons episode. You never feel any sympathy for the show's cast like you would with a good Simpson's episode. I could care less if Stewie fell into the pit of hell, but I feel something when Bart shoplifts a videogame.

kamicolo, there's a big difference: Family Guy is a decent show (i dont watch it - forced humor) , whereas Simpsons is the greatest cartoon of all time (eariler seasons with clever humor).
