Edinburgh Interactive locks down schedule

This year's festival will feature world premiere screenings of Rise of the Argonauts, Turning Point, and the Euro premiere of Guitar Hero III.

The organisers of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2007 have released the event lineup, which they say is "arguably the strongest" in its five-year history.

This year's Edinburgh Interactive Festival will be taking place on August 13 and 14, and will feature a series of gaming-themed events including trailers of hot upcoming titles, talks by games industry personnel, and the chance for gamers to meet some of the industry's stars.

Games that will be shown in a series of public screenings taking place on August 14 are Codemasters' Rise of the Argonauts and Turning Point, Activision's Guitar Hero III, Midway's Unreal Tournament 2007, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, and Take-Two's BioShock. Tickets for the screenings will be on sale at Gamestation stores in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dundee from August 6.

Some of the industry talks which will be taking place include a keynote speech by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, CCP's Hilmar Petursson on the evolution of EVE Online, and Eidos' Ian Livingstone on "Games With Character."

GameSpot will be attending the Edinburgh Interactive Festival 2007, so stay tuned for our full coverage of the event.

I know someone who is going to this. personally I dont want to bother traveling all the way up england and into scotland. waste of time but those who libve near are lucky. I want to know about UT3 and if there is any difference between each versions but I will probably get this for the ps3 instead of the 360 as it will have free online play. I think that NFS prostreet will be shown there too.

Gamestation suck. They sell unsealed copies of world of warcraft. Their employees are also VERY rude to regular customers. I hate them. Also the people in mine look constantly stoned... and smell.

Bah, means nothing without being able to play the games like previous years. Didn't go last year, won't go this year, even if it is right on my doorstep.
