BioShock DLC surfaces
PC and Xbox 360 patch/update adds new power-ups and a new widescreen mode to 2K Boston's underwater shooter.
With the flow of huge new releases finally slowing down, 2K Games is giving PC and Xbox 360 gamers a reason to go back and boot up BioShock again. The publisher today announced the release of a "PC patch" and an "Xbox 360 Title Update" for the 2K Boston- and 2K Australia-developed first-person shooter.
Both the patch and the update add a new plasmid power and gene tonics to the game, as well as a new widescreen option that addresses one of the game's numerous postlaunch issues. Players who download the patch or update and play on widescreen monitors will now be able to select a broader view of the world, instead of the standard full-screen image with the top and bottom cut off.
One difference between the PC patch and the Xbox 360 update is that the latter includes a new achievement for the game. Xbox 360 players will now be able to earn 100 gamerscore points and the "Brass Balls" achievement by beating the game on hard difficulty without dying.
